📄 Editorial Review

Mercantile Office Systems Pvt. Ltd. (MOS) is a long-established Nepalese information technology company headquartered in Kathmandu. The wider Mercantile organization traces its roots to 1951, Mercantile Traders entered the computer business in 1983, and Mercantile Office Systems was established in 1985. Founder and CEO Sanjib Raj Bhandari has played a central role in the company and the broader Mercantile technology group.

MOS is primarily an enterprise IT, computer hardware, software and office-automation company rather than a conventional web hosting provider. Its historical connection with Internet services in Nepal comes through the wider Mercantile group. Mercantile Communications Pvt. Ltd. began Internet operations on a test basis in 1993 and became a separate company in 1994.

The company's experience covers computers, peripherals, software development, networking equipment, printers, scanners, projectors, identification-card systems and enterprise infrastructure. More than 300 professionals are associated with the organization, including over 90 programmers involved in software development. Banking applications have formed an important part of its software business, alongside customized Web applications and enterprise systems.

Its customer base spans banks and financial institutions, government organizations, educational institutions, NGOs, airlines, hotels, hospitals and private companies. This broad enterprise background makes MOS considerably different from a small computer retailer and reflects its long-standing role in Nepal's technology sector.

The active hardware portfolio includes Acer, Epson, Entrust Datacard and other enterprise equipment. Laptops, desktop systems, monitors, printers, document scanners, projectors and ID-card printing equipment form an important part of the range.

Networking and infrastructure products include D-Link routers and access points, network switches and NAS storage. MOS also works with data-center-related equipment, including line-interactive and online UPS systems, thermal equipment and precision air-conditioning. These products are intended for enterprise IT rooms, server installations and similar infrastructure deployments.

For hosting customers, the important distinction is that MOS does not currently operate mos.com.np as a retail hosting storefront. Shared Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Reseller Hosting, Cloud Hosting and Colocation packages are not part of its current online product range. Its strengths remain concentrated on enterprise hardware, software development, networking, power systems, cooling and integrated IT solutions.

The website is available in English, while product pricing is expressed in Nepalese rupees (NPR). Product inquiries can be submitted directly for equipment that requires consultation or quotation rather than immediate online purchase.
