📄 Editorial Review

MiroNet AG is a Swiss hosting and platform-engineering company from Basel, active since 2005. Its background combines professional hosting, virtualization, IT infrastructure, application operations, and long-term specialization in Magnolia CMS. The business originally operated as MiroNet GmbH and became MiroNet AG in 2012. The Swiss company registration includes UID/VAT CHE-112.566.674 and commercial-register number CH-270.4.014.404-9. Michael Robertson, the founder associated with the company's early development, remains connected with MiroNet at board level.

MiroNet is not positioned as a conventional low-cost hosting provider with a large catalog of shared hosting, unmanaged VPS, and dedicated servers. Its services are aimed primarily at companies running business-critical applications, containerized environments, and more complex web projects. The current portfolio is centered on CaaS – Kubernetes as a Service, Kubernetes Engineering, and Magnolia Hosting, while IaaS remains part of customized infrastructure projects.

The website is available in German, and no multi-language/localized version exists. Prices for the standard Magnolia packages are shown in Swiss francs.

CaaS – Kubernetes as a Service provides a managed Kubernetes environment built around Rancher. MiroNet takes care of architecture, deployment, operations, CI/CD integration, source-code-management workflows, and ongoing platform maintenance. Multi-cluster administration, GitOps, autoscaling, CI/CD pipeline engineering, ChatOps, and integrations with Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Alibaba Cloud are available for organizations using hybrid or multi-cloud environments.

The CaaS service also includes architectural planning, implementation assistance, customer training, and 24/7 support. MiroNet can develop Helm charts, assist with cloud-native architecture, and integrate customer applications into automated deployment environments. This makes the service better suited to DevOps teams and software companies than to customers simply looking for an unmanaged virtual server.

Kubernetes Engineering extends this approach with development and consulting around Kubernetes operators, webhooks, migrations, GitOps, CI/CD, integrations, and stabilization of complex container environments. The service can be useful for companies that already maintain their own development teams but need experienced infrastructure engineering and ongoing operational assistance.

Magnolia Hosting is the most traditional hosting product in the portfolio. MiroNet has specialized in Magnolia hosting since its early years and has participated in more than 350 Magnolia projects. Standard managed packages are available for different application sizes, while customized Magnolia environments combine infrastructure and container services for larger installations.

The Magnolia packages include daily backups, unlimited MySQL databases, unlimited alias domains, unlimited traffic, redundant 10 Gbit/s internal connectivity, application monitoring, alerting, HTTP/2, and free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates. High-availability components include VMware HA and NGINX HA. Customer data for these hosting packages remains in Swiss data centers.

IaaS continues to be available as part of larger customized environments. MiroNet combines virtual infrastructure, storage, networking, virtualization, and container services when building dedicated application platforms. Unlike mainstream public-cloud providers, this part of the portfolio is handled as a customized business service instead of through a large self-service price calculator.
