Root-Server XL is where the line moves into the newer Ryzen 9 platform and faster NVMe-backed storage. The monthly price is 149.99 EUR and the one-time setup fee is 2975.00 EUR. Hardware consists of an AMD Ryzen 9 7000-series processor with 12 cores and 24 threads at 3.8 GHz, 128 GB DDR5 ECC RAM and two 2 TB NVMe drives. That gives a visible raw storage total of 4 TB before software RAID mirroring, 10 TB included monthly IPv4 traffic and a materially faster 1 GBit/s uplink instead of 100 MBit/s.
This tier is a better match for workloads that actually benefit from newer CPU generation, ECC memory and lower-latency storage, such as heavier application hosting, development pipelines, larger game servers or mixed infrastructure roles on a single box. It still keeps the same operational extras as the rest of the range, including one IPv4, IPv6 blocks, 100 GB backup space, rescue and reinstall tools in the in-house menu, free hardware replacement during regular hours if needed and 24x7 monitored German infrastructure. Linux is the natural default, while paid KVM-over-IP keeps the door open to custom operating system deployment, including Windows with customer-provided license and image.

The entire root-server line is based on real physical hardware with no virtualization layer, hosted in manitu's fully owned data center in Germany directly at the company's site. The comparison pages add several infrastructure details that are valuable in practice: 4-fold geographically and logically redundant connectivity, more than 40 GBit/s aggregate bandwidth, an in-house IPv4 and IPv6 backbone, UPS protection, diesel generator backup, full air conditioning and 100 percent green electricity in a climate-neutral setup.
Operational tooling is more substantial than the short overview suggests. Each server includes an in-house customer menu for reboots, rescue systems, reinstallations and traffic statistics, plus 100 GB backup space reachable via FTP, FTPS and SFTP. One IPv4 address is included, IPv6 comes as one /64 per server and one /48 per customer, and DNS resolver usage is included. The data center availability figure is stated at more than 99.9 percent annual average with 24x7 monitoring. Support is available by phone and email during regular hours and by a dedicated 24x7 emergency phone service for root-server customers, while Windows can be installed using paid KVM-over-IP and the customer's own image and license. The range is restricted to business customers, billed monthly in advance, with a 12-month minimum term and 2-week cancellation period.
