KowloonHosting is a Hong Kong web hosting provider established in 2010, with a strong focus on customers requiring services close to Hong Kong, mainland China and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The business is operated by Cycom Hong Kong Limited, a Hong Kong IT and hosting company incorporated on March 12, 2013 under registration number 1873461. KowloonHosting moved under Cycom Hong Kong Limited on April 17, 2013 as part of a corporate reorganization.

Cycom has built a wider hosting group around several regional brands, including ChinaHoster, SinoHosting, SinoServers, HostGamma and EastAsiaHosting (eastasiahosting.com). At group level, Cycom operates nine brands, manages more than 2,000 servers across 21 datacenters and serves approximately 72,000 customers. Cycom Hong Kong Limited is a privately held company with an estimated staff size of 11-50 employees.

The KowloonHosting product range covers Linux Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Cloud VPS, Dedicated Servers, domain registration, SSL certificates and Microsoft 365 business email. A separate student program provides free hosting for eligible students and student organizations in selected Asian markets.

Shared Hosting is divided into Personal, Startup, Business and Enterprise plans. Storage ranges from 5 GB to 100 GB, while monthly data transfer ranges from 50 GB to 1 TB. The larger plans support multiple hosted domains, with Business allowing three domains and Enterprise allowing six. Higher plans include unlimited email accounts, FTP accounts, databases, subdomains and parked domains.

Shared accounts include POP3, SMTP, IMAP, Webmail, SpamAssassin filtering, RAID1 storage protection, remote backups and free cPanel-based migration. Softaculous is included for installing WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and many other applications.

Some technical specifications still reference older PHP 5.x and MySQL 5.x generations, so customers depending on a specific modern PHP, database or application stack should confirm the exact production environment before ordering. The main website has used a responsive layout since its 2017 redesign and works adequately on modern mobile devices.

Reseller Hosting consists of four plans, RH-1 through RH-4. These packages provide between 25 and 200 cPanel accounts, 25 GB to 200 GB of disk space and monthly traffic allowances from 250 GB to 2 TB. Resellers receive WHM and cPanel, overselling is supported, and anonymous nameservers allow services to be delivered under the reseller's own brand. Private nameservers can also be configured with dedicated IP addresses. Remote backups are performed twice per week.

Cloud VPS hosting is available with Linux or Windows. Configurations range from 1 CPU, 2 GB RAM and 50 GB SSD cloud storage up to 8 CPUs, 16 GB RAM and 500 GB storage. Available operating systems include CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian and Windows Server. VPS instances include proactive ping and HTTP monitoring, allowing technical staff to react when connectivity or service problems occur.

Dedicated Servers provide full root access and are suitable for AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, FreeBSD and Windows Server. Hardware options include Intel Xeon E3 systems, dual Xeon E5 configurations and AMD EPYC servers. Most configurations include 30 TB of traffic, one IPv4 address, operating-system installation, manual reboot assistance, proactive ping and HTTP monitoring, basic SLA coverage and standard DDoS IP protection. Hardware replacement under the basic SLA has a target of up to 24 hours. WHM/cPanel is available as an optional license.

Domain registration is integrated into the customer portal and covers extensions including .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .hk, .com.hk, .cn, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn, .asia, .in, .me, .name, .mobi, .tv, .co and .ru. Chinese .cn domains can be registered by foreign customers, although identity or company documentation may be required. A .com.hk registration requires a company registered in Hong Kong together with the corresponding Business Registration documentation.

SSL certificates are available from Comodo, including PositiveSSL, InstantSSL, EssentialSSL Wildcard and EV certificates. SSL installation is free when the certificate is used on a KowloonHosting server.

Microsoft 365 is another part of the business-service range. Business Basic combines hosted business email, 1 TB of cloud storage and browser/mobile Office applications. Business Standard adds desktop Office applications, while Business Premium adds advanced security, Intune and information-protection functionality.

The student hosting program is particularly useful for educational projects. Eligible students and student organizations in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, mainland China, Singapore, South Korea and Japan can receive the Personal shared-hosting plan free for two years when the website is non-commercial. A KowloonHosting attribution link must remain on the homepage, and a recurring discount is available after the initial free period.
