ko-host.be is a Belgian hosting provider operated by L&Ko bv, with a strong focus on personal service and locally hosted infrastructure. Founder Kor Vanschoelant has worked with hosting and network administration since 2004, while the ko-host.be brand has been active since 2010. L&Ko bv became the formal company structure in 2014. Kor remains directly involved with both server administration and customer support, giving the service a much more personal character than large-volume hosting providers.

The current hosting portfolio is deliberately compact and mainly targets freelancers, small businesses, nonprofit organizations and smaller web agencies. Shared hosting is centered on the Boost and Turbo packages, while older Start, Plus and Business packages are retained only for existing customers.

Boost is intended primarily for a single website and includes 15 GB SSD storage, 150 GB monthly traffic, 50 email accounts, three databases and support for up to five add-on domains. Turbo raises the limits considerably, supporting up to 15 websites, 35 GB SSD storage, 1 TB monthly traffic, unlimited email accounts, 25 databases and unlimited add-on domains. Both packages include LiteSpeed, daily backups, automatically managed SSL certificates, DirectAdmin and Installatron.

The underlying hosting environment is modern enough for both regular business websites and WordPress installations. LiteSpeed together with LSCache improves WordPress performance, while HTTP/3 and QUIC are supported. Customers can select PHP versions ranging from 7.2 through 8.5, which is particularly useful for maintaining older applications while gradually moving them to newer PHP releases.

Hosting accounts are isolated from each other, security updates are performed regularly, and firewall and DDoS protection are part of the server environment. Email hosting includes spam, malware, virus and phishing filtering.

Installatron provides one-click installation and management for around 224 applications, including WordPress, WooCommerce, Joomla, Magento and phpBB. Automatic application updates and backups can also be handled through the same system.

Managed WordPress assistance is available for customers who prefer to have WordPress installation and optimization handled for them. This is provided as an individualized service rather than through a separate standardized managed WordPress package.

Reseller Hosting is another important part of the service. Reseller Start includes 25 GB SSD storage, 1 TB monthly traffic, unlimited hosting accounts, unlimited email accounts and databases, DirectAdmin reseller access and LiteSpeed. Reseller Pro increases the allocation to 75 GB SSD storage and 3 TB monthly traffic, while also adding white-label nameservers and Priority support. Pro customers additionally receive one migration per calendar year. Larger reseller environments can be arranged separately according to requirements.

Domain registration is integrated with the hosting service. Every registered domain includes a basic DirectAdmin account for DNS administration, supporting records such as A, MX, CNAME, TXT, SPF and DKIM. The complimentary domain account also includes 250 MB of storage, 1 GB of monthly traffic, one mailbox, five email forwarders, redirects and enough hosting capacity for a simple static HTML website. PHP, databases and WordPress require a regular hosting package.

.be domain registrations benefit from the privacy rules applied by DNS Belgium, while domain transfers use the standard authorization-code procedure. Customers therefore remain free to transfer their domains to another registrar when required.

VPS and dedicated servers are available on request rather than through a fixed list of standardized configurations. Separate backup services and email-only hosting can also be arranged individually. This approach works particularly well for customers who prefer discussing specific technical requirements directly with the server administrator.

Cloud hosting is not part of the current service range. The main emphasis remains on conventional hosting infrastructure located in Belgium and managed directly by the company.

Separate Linux and network administration services are available for companies and individuals requiring technical help beyond standard hosting. Typical work includes Linux administration, website migrations, network troubleshooting, router and firewall configuration, backup management, email configuration and assistance with security incidents. The standard rate is €75 per hour excluding VAT, while fixed-price work can also be agreed for larger projects. Remote assistance is available together with on-site work around Westerlo, Leuven and Lier.

The website and customer environment are primarily in Dutch. English-language support is available, while French support is more limited. No complete multi-language/localized storefront exists. Products are priced in EUR.

The service remains technically stronger than its relatively simple presentation might suggest. Some older service information still exists alongside the newer 2026 packages, so customers moving from legacy plans should pay particular attention to the specifications associated with their current subscription.
