JAAN is a Belgian IT and hosting company active since 2000, giving it more than 25 years of experience in hosting, online communication and custom Internet services. The company is based in Zelzate, East Flanders, and serves more than 8,000 organizations. The current legal entity, JAAN bv, was incorporated on December 14, 2007, while the underlying business activity dates back to 2000. Jaan Colman is Managing Director, and the company remains a compact Belgian operation with direct involvement in its technical infrastructure and customer services.

JAAN operates several closely integrated brands. WWW4 handles web hosting, virtual servers, dedicated servers, SSL certificates and domain registration, while 2Mail covers SMTP relay and transactional or bulk email delivery. SMSBOX provides SMS, WhatsApp Business, OTP, voice messaging and related API services. JAAN also develops custom applications, websites and integrations. The same JAAN account and billing environment can be used across these different services.

The hosting side is particularly well suited to Belgian organizations that prefer local infrastructure and local technical support. JAAN owns its servers, operates its own IP range and rents dedicated rack space in Belgian datacenters rather than building the platform entirely on third-party virtual servers. Hosting data remains in Belgium.

The websites and customer environment support Dutch, French and English, making the service practical throughout Belgium and for international customers operating locally. Hosting prices are quoted in EUR.

Shared Linux Hosting is available through WWW4 in four SSD-based levels. Linux Eco includes 1,250 MB storage, Linux Basic 2,500 MB, Linux Standard 5,000 MB and Linux Premium 10,000 MB. The packages include automatic SSL certificates, daily backups, network-level DDoS protection, unlimited mailboxes and aliases, and unlimited traffic under normal-use conditions. Higher packages provide progressively larger database and PHP resource allowances.

The shared environment works well with WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and custom PHP websites. Softaculous provides one-click installation for common applications, while Redis object caching and additional performance optimization are available for more demanding CMS installations. Magento and similarly resource-intensive applications are better suited to VPS or dedicated infrastructure.

WordPress Hosting uses the same optimized hosting infrastructure with SSD storage, automatic backups, SSL, caching, security monitoring and simplified installation. Joomla and Drupal can also be hosted in the same environment without requiring a specialized server.

Email Hosting is included with the hosting packages. Customers can create unlimited mailboxes and aliases on their own domains and access them through IMAP, POP3 and webmail. Hosted mailboxes are included in the server backup system. Businesses sending transactional messages, newsletters or webshop notifications at larger scale can use the separate 2Mail SMTP platform instead of sending bulk traffic through an ordinary shared-hosting account.

Managed VPS Hosting provides substantially more resources and isolation than shared hosting while keeping server administration in JAAN's hands. Operating-system maintenance, updates, security and monitoring are managed, while customers retain SSH access.

The current Start VPS provides 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 75 GB SSD. Growth increases this to 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 150 GB SSD, while the Database configuration includes 4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM and 300 GB SSD. CPU, RAM and SSD resources can also be configured individually, together with options such as backups, snapshots and high availability.

Dedicated Servers provide an entire physical server for one customer. JAAN uses new server hardware rather than relying on recycled systems, with Supermicro platforms and IPMI remote-management access through VPN. Servers can be operated unmanaged or combined with full management covering updates, monitoring and backups.

Additional IPv4 addresses, Windows Server SPLA licenses and InterWorx licenses can be added when required. Dedicated servers normally include 500 GB monthly transfer, with larger traffic allocations available according to customer requirements.

Colocation Hosting is available for customers that already own their server hardware. JAAN supplies rack space, electricity, cooling, network connectivity, physical security and access control, while the customer remains responsible for the operating system, applications, software licenses and backup configuration. Pricing depends on rack-unit requirements, power consumption and network capacity.

The broader infrastructure portfolio also includes Hosted Cloud Storage with capacities between 1 TB and 5 TB. Access is available through FTP, Rsync and SMB, making the service primarily suitable for server backups and file-storage workloads.

A more isolated storage solution is available through dedicated Synology (synology.com) NAS systems. Customers rent an entire physical NAS installed in the Belgian infrastructure and can choose different memory and storage configurations. Available systems include the DS723+, DS923+, RS822+ and RS1221+. Administration is performed through a protected VPN connection, and hardware failures involving the NAS, installed memory or disks are handled by JAAN. Managed administration and backup options can also be added.

JAAN also offers a dedicated Raspberry Pi (raspberrypi.com) 5 service. The customer receives a physical Raspberry Pi operating continuously in the datacenter with a dedicated IPv4 address, configurable 4 GB or 8 GB RAM, selectable microSD capacity, optional weekly backups and VPN-based management. It is a useful niche product for automation, monitoring, development environments and lightweight server applications.

Domain registration and DNS administration are integrated into the customer environment. DNS management includes A, CNAME, MX and TXT records, and automatic domain renewal is supported. WHOIS privacy can be used for domain extensions where registry rules permit it.

SSL management is similarly integrated. Hosting accounts include automatically renewed Let's Encrypt certificates at no additional cost, while commercial Comodo DV, OV and EV certificates are available for organizations requiring commercial validation.
