IPtoX GmbH is a German business hosting and IT systems company headquartered in Lüneburg, Lower Saxony. Marc Riemer founded the company in 2009, continuing business activities that began several years earlier. The company operates with a compact technical team and concentrates on individually engineered infrastructure rather than mass-market hosting.

IPtoX is not a conventional budget provider built around inexpensive shared hosting packages. Its main strength is fully managed infrastructure for European companies operating websites, online stores, business applications, entertainment platforms and other demanding Internet services. The portfolio covers managed cloud servers, dedicated servers, domain registration, SSL certificates, enterprise email, software development, IT systems engineering, application migrations, managed services and hosting security.

There is no traditional low-cost shared hosting package for hobby websites or personal projects. Managed environments are instead assembled around the customer’s application, technical requirements and expected workload. Colocation is also included within the contractual framework, although it is handled as an individually arranged service rather than a standardized online package.

The Managed Dynamic Server range is the company’s cloud and virtual server platform. A project can begin with a single managed server and later expand into a clustered environment with multiple instances, automatic scaling and integrated load balancing. The platform includes n+1 redundancy for critical components, SAS or Intel SSD storage, proactive security monitoring, daily backups, SSL configuration, Perfect Forward Secrecy and the company’s Hosting Security Suite.

Two Dynamic Server families cover different workload requirements. The standard MD plans concentrate on storage capacity, beginning with 75 GB and extending to 1,000 GB. The MDLS plans use 50 GB of storage and provide a lower entry point for applications requiring processing resources without large local storage allocations. CPU resources range from 2 to 16 processor threads, while memory ranges from 2 GB to 32 GB.

The one-month contract period makes the Dynamic Server range practical for growing applications, temporary projects and infrastructure migrations. Customers are not forced into a long commitment before determining whether the configuration is appropriate for their workload.

Managed Dedicated Servers provide physically separated hardware for applications that require predictable resources, stronger isolation or dedicated storage. The standard configurations use Intel Xeon E3 and E5 processors, 16 GB to 128 GB RAM, enterprise SATA SSDs and hardware RAID. Custom hardware and software configurations can also be prepared for applications that do not fit the standard packages.

Dedicated servers include daily managed backups, SSL configuration, server monitoring, security monitoring, IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, telephone and email assistance, SLA Silver and a 1 Gbps network connection. Operating-system maintenance, security patching, monitoring and technical intervention form an essential part of the product rather than being optional management extras.

Some of the standardized processor configurations belong to older Intel Xeon generations. These systems remain capable of operating many stable business applications, although customers entering a 36-month agreement should confirm the exact hardware generation supplied with a new order.

IPtoX also provides SSL certificates from GeoTrust, Comodo and GlobalSign product families. Domain-validated certificates can be issued quickly, while extended-validation certificates normally require additional business verification. The certificate range supports SHA-2, keys of at least 2,048 bits and free certificate replacement.

The certificate catalog still contains several older certificate and certification-authority names. Customers should therefore confirm the current issuing brand, certificate chain, browser compatibility and renewal conditions before selecting a certificate.

Software development and IT systems engineering are important parts of the company’s business. IPtoX can build Internet applications, design the underlying hardware architecture, migrate existing systems and continue operating the production environment after deployment. This creates a practical single-provider arrangement for companies that prefer to keep development, infrastructure and server management under one technical team.

The Hosting Security Suite 2.0 adds security functions for complex hosting environments, multi-customer systems and applications exposed to the public Internet. It combines server monitoring, application-level protection, secure TLS configuration and web application firewall functions. The security suite can be included with managed hosting without a separate software license fee.

Domain registration is handled through the customer ordering system, with .de used as the standard domain extension when no alternative extension is agreed. Enterprise email can be added to Dynamic Hosting, while Flexiconf includes reseller-oriented functions for creating and administering separate customer accounts.

The website operates in German, prices are shown in EUR, and the services are intended primarily for commercial customers. The visual presentation is somewhat dated, but the company remains strongly focused on technical detail, managed service and customized business infrastructure.
