InterNLnet is a long-established Dutch internet and hosting provider with roots going back to 1995, when its services began from the university campus in Nijmegen. Today the company operates from Duiven, Gelderland, with a team of around 20 employees and a strong focus on Dutch businesses that prefer locally operated infrastructure and direct technical support instead of a highly automated global cloud platform.

There is an important distinction between the age of the InterNLnet brand and the present legal entity. The current InterNLnet B.V. was incorporated in February 2020 and took over the hosting services, customer base and InterNLnet and Zonnet trade names from T-Mobile Netherlands effective March 1, 2020. The business has passed through several larger telecommunications groups during its history. BBNed acquired InterNLnet in July 2007 for €5.5 million, including €1.7 million in cash and cash equivalents. The present company is owned by ITEQT (iteqt.com).

The current portfolio is centered on Domain Registration, Shared Web Hosting, SSL Certificates, Unmanaged Virtual Servers and Managed Virtual Servers. The emphasis is clearly on virtualized infrastructure, managed services and business hosting rather than conventional bare-metal dedicated-server packages.

Domain Registration covers more than 100 extensions, including .NL, .COM, .NET and .INFO together with many country-code and generic TLDs. Domain management is integrated into the customer environment, including DNS administration, transfers and authorization codes.

The Shared Web Hosting service is divided into three packages. Webhosting Instap includes 5 GB storage, five email boxes, two MySQL databases and 25 email aliases. Webhosting Standaard increases capacity to 50 GB storage, 50 mailboxes, 10 databases and 50 aliases, while Webhosting Extra includes 100 GB storage, 100 mailboxes, 20 databases and 500 aliases. Individual mailboxes have a maximum size of 1 GB.

Traffic for shared hosting operates under a Fair Use Policy. Normal website traffic is effectively unrestricted, although unusually intensive usage can lead to direct contact or additional charges.

The hosting environment is Linux-based and suitable for common applications such as WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. Customers can use MySQL databases, cron jobs, FTP, email and website statistics. SSH access is not part of the standard shared-hosting environment. Server-side email receives spam filtering, hosted files are checked for malware, and SpamExperts can be added when stronger mail filtering is required. Website migration assistance is also available.

Shared-hosting servers receive a daily crash-and-recovery backup. This backup is intended mainly for recovery of a complete server after a serious failure rather than convenient restoration of individual customer files. Restoring only one website from the infrastructure backup is more complicated and can involve an additional charge, so maintaining a separate website backup remains sensible for important production sites.

The Unmanaged Virtual Server service is designed for customers comfortable managing their own operating system and applications. Virtual machines use VMware (vmware.com) virtualization and Linux is available without an additional operating-system fee. Windows can also be installed for an extra monthly charge. Server administration remains the customer's responsibility, while CPU, memory and storage resources can be expanded when requirements increase.

Three standard unmanaged configurations are available. Instap provides 1 CPU, 1 GB RAM and 10 GB storage, Standaard includes 2 CPUs, 2 GB RAM and 25 GB storage, and Extra provides 4 CPUs, 4 GB RAM and 50 GB storage. These configurations are modest compared with the resource-heavy VPS offers commonly available from large international providers, but InterNLnet competes more strongly on Dutch infrastructure, personal service and direct technical relationships.

The Managed Virtual Server service adds system administration, monitoring, security patching and backups. Managed environments are monitored 24/7, allowing technical intervention when operational problems occur. The standard configuration includes 1 CPU, 2 GB RAM and 20 GB storage, while larger systems can be prepared according to individual requirements. Linux is included and Windows remains available as an option.

SSL certificates are supplied through Sectigo. Available certificate categories include Domain Validation, Extended Validation and Wildcard SSL. Installation assistance is available for InterNLnet hosting customers, which is useful for businesses that do not want to handle certificate configuration themselves.

Security is supplemented by email filtering, malware scanning and Acronis-based backup technology in parts of the service environment. The exact backup and recovery arrangement depends on the product, particularly because shared-hosting disaster recovery and managed-server backups serve different purposes.

The website is essentially Dutch-only, making InterNLnet most convenient for Dutch-speaking customers. Product prices are quoted in EUR. The interface is functional and business-oriented, with direct access to support, webmail and account administration.
