Interferenza is an Italian web hosting and e-commerce infrastructure company based in San Nicola La Strada, near Caserta. Its operating history reaches back to approximately 1996, while Interferenza S.r.l. was formally registered in 2002. Giancarlo Russo is associated with the company as its owner.

Interferenza has remained a relatively compact hosting provider, serving approximately 3,000 hosted domains across a network of around 84 servers. Its services generate more than 1.2 billion monthly hits. Corporate records for 2024 place the company at approximately 10 employees, with revenue of €673,718 and a reported profit of €9,824.

The service portfolio includes domain registration and transfer, Linux and Windows shared hosting, WordPress hosting, PrestaShop hosting, DNS and email hosting, PEC certified email, managed VPS, dedicated servers, SSL certificates and hosted e-commerce. Domain registrations cover popular extensions such as .it, .com, .net, .org, .eu, .info, .shop, .market, .click, .biz, .mobi, .tv, .name, .cc and .us.

Simple Web is the basic Linux shared-hosting package. It includes an eligible domain, an SSL certificate, 1 GB of storage, FTP access, five email accounts, aliases, webmail, PHP and access to a web-based control panel. MySQL databases, backups and advanced email filtering can be added separately.

Entry Web is the more complete shared-hosting option and can be configured on either Linux or Windows Server. The Linux environment supports PHP, Perl, CGI and MySQL, while the Windows service includes ASP, ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL Server compatibility. The package includes 2 GB of storage, five 1 GB mailboxes, 10 GB of monthly traffic, unlimited subdomains, SSL, daily backups, Awstats and complete POP3, IMAP and SMTP access.

The specialized WordPress Hosting and PrestaShop Hosting packages include a domain, SSL, daily backups, email accounts, FTP access and 10 GB of monthly traffic. Some technical specifications still reference WordPress 4.9 and PrestaShop 1.6, so customers should confirm the software versions currently deployed before activating a new account.

The DNS & Mail packages suit companies that require professional email hosting without a website. Depending on the selected plan, they support between 10 and 80 mailboxes, together with webmail, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, spam filtering, antivirus protection, daily backups and an online administration panel. Organizations requiring a larger number of accounts can move to a VPS or dedicated-server environment.

Interferenza also provides PEC certified email, an important service for Italian companies, professionals and public-sector communications. Customers can obtain a standalone pec.it mailbox or configure certified mail under a third-level domain such as pec.example.it. The PEC infrastructure is supplied through Aruba.

A major part of the company’s modern service range is NewCart (newcart.it), its managed e-commerce platform. NewCart combines online-store software with hosting, an SSL certificate, domain registration, professional email and daily backups. It includes responsive storefronts, dropshipping tools, electronic invoicing, abandoned-cart recovery, courier integrations, social-network product feeds and marketplace synchronization.

NewCart stores can operate in 39 languages and support multiple currencies, including automated exchange-rate management. The platform connects with electronic payment gateways, conventional offline payment methods, delivery services and marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and ManoMano. Higher-tier plans add Progressive Web App functionality, marketplace synchronization, telephone support, advanced logistics tools, larger product catalogs and dedicated VPS resources.

The main Interferenza website is available in Italian and English, although parts of the legal documentation and PEC section remain primarily in Italian. NewCart also focuses mainly on the Italian market. Prices are displayed in EUR and are generally quoted excluding VAT.

The main hosting website uses a dated, fixed-width layout and retains a 2016 footer, making it less comfortable on modern mobile screens than newer hosting websites. Several VPS and dedicated-server specifications also contain old references such as Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2, Python 2.5 and MySQL 5.1. The production environment may have changed considerably, but the current operating-system, PHP and database versions should be confirmed before purchasing managed infrastructure.

NewCart has a much more modern interface and continues to receive product, marketplace and regulatory updates. This makes it the most actively developed and distinctive part of Interferenza’s service portfolio.
