HostUtopia Web Hosting, Inc. is a Canadian hosting company founded in 1996 by Daniel Eosco and Benjamin Burden. The business moved its headquarters to Vancouver in 1999 and gradually expanded from a small hosting operation into a nationwide provider serving thousands of customers. Its infrastructure now spans six Canadian data-center locations and more than 1,000 servers.

The company strengthened its Canadian support operation in 2024 through the acquisition of Web Hosting Support Group, a technical support business based in Prince Edward Island. This transaction expanded its Atlantic Canadian presence and added more experienced hosting technicians to the existing team. Earlier acquisitions included smaller web-design companies and hosting portfolios ranging from a few dozen accounts to several thousand customers.

Canadian cloud shared hosting is the main service. The Entrepreneur, Business, and Enterprise plans support between two and ten websites, with allocations ranging from 4 CPU cores and 4 GB of memory to 16 CPU cores and 16 GB of memory. Storage allowances range from 50 GB to 250 GB, while the larger packages include unmetered data transfer. Email capacity ranges from 50 to 500 mailboxes.

The shared platform includes NVMe SSD storage, CloudLinux account isolation, Imunify360 security, PHP 8, MySQL 8, Varnish caching, malware scanning, and continuous firewall protection. Each account also includes cPanel, WordPress management tools, the Kopage website builder, Softaculous, offsite backups, and filtered email.

The managed WordPress hosting service combines hosting with automatic WordPress core, theme, and plugin maintenance. The higher plans add compatibility testing, performance audits, image optimization, Wordfence security, WP Rocket caching, and support for websites using a larger number of plugins. Custom themes, plugin development, repairs, migrations, and complete WordPress or WooCommerce projects are also available.

Dedicated servers can be ordered through the billing portal, although the listed hardware is old by current standards. Available configurations use processors such as the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, dual Intel Xeon E5506, and Intel Xeon E5-1620 v3. Managed cPanel and WHM administration, RAID storage, backups, anti-spam protection, and monthly bandwidth allowances between 50 TB and 500 TB are included. Customers considering this service should confirm the current hardware inventory before placing an order.

Domain registration and transfer services cover Canadian and international extensions. SSL options include standard certificates and products from GlobalSign. Managed DNS, business email, web design, WooCommerce development, server monitoring, website monitoring, SEO tools, and WordPress optimization are also available.

Kopage is included with the hosting plans and provides a visual website-building environment with responsive templates, blogging, galleries, contact forms, online-store functions, event listings, newsletters, maps, analytics, live chat, and stock images. Softaculous provides access to more than 300 applications, while the WordPress Manager handles installation, staging, cloning, backups, security checks, updates, and maintenance.

The email platform includes TLS transport, malware filtering, ransomware filtering, outbound spam control, quarantine management, and phishing protection. Website, database, and email information is replicated twice per day, with as many as 90 daily restore points retained offsite. Files, folders, databases, and mailboxes can be restored directly through cPanel.

The main website has a responsive and reasonably modern layout. Some sections still contain inconsistent pricing, outdated company-age wording, old product references, and navigation links that do not lead directly to the corresponding order page. The dedicated-server section is especially fragmented because the main navigation does not clearly expose the current billing catalog.

English is the main website language, and prices are primarily displayed in Canadian dollars. The billing portal includes a currency selector, although CAD remains the standard reference currency throughout the product catalog.
