HostProfis is an Austrian business hosting and telecommunications provider with roots going back to 1999. Founded by Ing. Mario Oberdorfer, the business evolved from a full-service Internet agency into a broader provider covering web hosting, domains, managed server infrastructure, business Internet connectivity and IP telephony. HostProfis ISP Telekom GmbH is based in Villach, Austria, and operates under 2M Group GmbH. The present GmbH entered the Austrian commercial register in 2004, while the HostProfis business itself dates from 1999. Matthias Kollegger is the current managing director, and the company serves more than 40,000 customers.

Its portfolio is particularly suitable for businesses that want to combine several Internet and communications services with a single Austrian provider. Core services include SSD Web Hosting, Managed Servers, Domain Registration, Domain Robot services and SSL Certificates, together with xDSL and fiber Internet connectivity, MPLS networking, 3CX and CloudFon cloud telephony, SIP Trunks, SMS services, ISDN-over-IP and business telephone equipment.

The standard Web Hosting platform uses SSD storage and includes unlimited data transfer, free Let's Encrypt SSL and telephone support. StartUp 2024 provides 25 GB SSD web storage, 5 GB email storage, 50 mailboxes, five databases, five FTP accounts and SSH access. BASIC 2024 increases capacity to 50 GB SSD storage, 10 GB email storage, 100 mailboxes and ten databases, while PROFI 2024 reaches 100 GB SSD storage, 15 GB email storage, 200 mailboxes and 20 databases. BASIC and PROFI also support multiple domains.

Developer access is stronger than on many simple business hosting packages. SSH is included, cron jobs can be configured, and customers can use MySQL and MariaDB databases with phpMyAdmin. Higher hosting packages receive larger PHP execution limits and memory allocations, while ImageMagick, GraphicsMagick and GD support applications that need image-processing functions.

HostProfis uses its own in-house control panel rather than cPanel or Plesk. Hosting accounts, domains, SSL certificates, invoices and other contracted services can be administered from a unified customer environment. Database management is handled through phpMyAdmin, while hosting administration also includes backup and restoration functions.

The Managed Server portfolio consists of managed virtual servers rather than conventional unmanaged VPS or bare-metal dedicated machines. These packages fit agencies, resellers and business websites that need isolated resources while leaving operating-system maintenance and platform administration to HostProfis. Starter provides 2 CPU cores, 6 GB RAM and 50 GB storage, Business increases this to 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM and 100 GB storage, Expert provides 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM and 150 GB storage, and Professional reaches 16 CPU cores, 32 GB RAM and 200 GB storage. Storage uses three-way redundancy.

Managed Server customers receive system maintenance, software updates, security patches, shell access and continuous server monitoring. CPU, RAM and storage can be expanded as requirements increase. A brandable administration interface is also available, making these packages useful for agencies and resellers that provide hosting services under their own identity.

Domain Registration covers more than 355 TLDs, including popular generic extensions, European domains and numerous country-code extensions. Domains can be registered, transferred and combined with web hosting and email services, while DNS records, forwarding and other domain settings are controlled through the customer interface.

Professional resellers can use the Domain Robot, which provides real-time registration, transfers, contact-handle administration, bulk operations and DNS management. Supported DNS record types include A, AAAA, MX, CNAME, TXT, PTR, NS and SRV. Domains managed through the Domain Robot must be registered through HostProfis.

SSL Certificates include free Let's Encrypt certificates for hosting customers. Certificates can be activated through the customer center and renew automatically after their normal 90-day validity periods. Commercial certificates are also available for customers requiring additional validation or different certificate classes.

HostProfis also has an unusually extensive telecommunications portfolio for a hosting company. xDSL Business connections provide asymmetric Internet access at speeds up to 300 Mbps with unlimited traffic and a static IP address. Fiber/LWL connectivity ranges from smaller business circuits to multi-gigabit installations, while MPLS services support private interconnection between company locations with Quality of Service and centralized networking.

The communications portfolio includes 3CX and CloudFon cloud PBX, SIP Trunks, SMS Trunks, ISDN over IP and IP telephone hardware. The cloud telephone environment supports unified communications, browser and mobile clients, Microsoft Teams integration, CRM integrations, queues, web meetings and remote-working scenarios. Number porting is available, together with compatible desk phones, DECT equipment, conference systems, headsets and related business hardware.

The website and customer information are primarily in German, and no multi-language/localized version exists. Services are priced in EUR and are primarily intended for business customers, with standard prices generally shown excluding Austrian VAT.
