The company is Australian-owned and staffed, with its business operations based in Queensland and its hosting infrastructure located in Sydney, Australia. Hostmatrix belongs to a wider group of Australian internet businesses covering web hosting, domain registration and website-related services. Hostmatrix concentrates on conventional Linux shared hosting rather than maintaining an oversized product catalogue. Its services cover shared web hosting, WordPress hosting, email hosting, domain registration, domain transfers, free SSL certificates, DNS management and domain forwarding. Server resources scale from one CPU core and 1 GB of memory on the entry plan to three CPU cores and 3 GB of memory on the largest package.

The combination of LiteSpeed, NVMe storage and LiteSpeed Cache creates a suitable environment for WordPress websites. WordPress can be installed through Softaculous, while customers moving from another cPanel provider can receive a complete account transfer covering website files, databases and email accounts.

SSL certificates are included without an additional charge and cover primary domains, addon domains, aliases, subdomains and email services. Certificate installation and renewal are automatic while the Hostmatrix hosting account remains active.

Email hosting is integrated into every hosting package. Customers can create unlimited mailboxes and divide their available account storage between those mailboxes without a separate mailbox-size restriction. Outgoing email is routed separately from the main web servers, reducing the likelihood that website activity will affect mail-server reputation and delivery.

The hosting environment has a 200,000 inode limit, while individual databases must remain below 2,000 MB. Accounts cannot continuously consume more than 20% of the server’s resources for longer than 90 seconds. SSH access and remote database connections are not included, so the service is less suitable for developers requiring command-line administration, persistent processes or large application databases.

Domain registration includes DNS management, nameserver control, email forwarding and URL forwarding. Eligible generic domains can use WHOIS privacy and registrar locking, while Australian domains remain subject to auDA registration and eligibility requirements. Transfers of .au domains are free, although the transfer does not add another year to the domain’s registration period.

The service operates in English and uses Australian dollars, with GST included in the displayed pricing. The website remains easy to navigate, although its traditional design and some dated visual elements make it less modern than newer hosting storefronts.
