📄 Editorial Review

Hospedaje y Dominios is a Spanish hosting provider and domain registrar established in 2003, with its business operations based in Ponferrada, León, and hosting infrastructure located in Madrid, Spain. The company operates as Hospedaje y Dominios S.L. and combines domain registration with shared hosting, reseller hosting, Cloud VPS, dedicated servers and SSL certificates.

Its history began on February 7, 2003, originally under the company name Tienda Spanishare S.L., with Carlos Luna Rivera as sole administrator. The Hospedaje y Dominios name was adopted in January 2004. Carlos Luna Rivera has also maintained a long-term technical and administrative role connected with the company's Internet resources. Over its operating history, the business has handled more than 12,000 domains and served more than 10,000 customers.

Domain registration is an important part of the business rather than simply an additional hosting feature. Hospedaje y Dominios is an accredited .ES registrar, with 2,614 active .es domains recorded in February 2026, placing it among Spain's accredited registrars. The domain portfolio includes .es, .com, .net, .org, .eu and many country-code and newer generic extensions.

Domain customers receive DNS administration with A, MX and CNAME records, together with URL forwarding and email forwarding. Registrations, renewals, contact data and DNS settings can be controlled directly from the customer area.

The Shared Hosting range runs on Linux servers in Spain using SSD/NVMe storage. The entry HyD package provides 2 GB of space, one hosted domain, unlimited monthly traffic, unlimited email accounts, mailing lists and databases. Larger packages increase storage to 10 GB, 20 GB and 40 GB.

The web-hosting environment combines Apache and Nginx and supports multiple PHP generations from PHP 5.x through PHP 8.x. MySQL/MariaDB databases are available, while email services include POP3, IMAP, SMTP and Roundcube webmail.

DirectAdmin is included with shared hosting and is available in Spanish. Installatron provides automated installation for more than 50 applications, including WordPress, Joomla, PrestaShop and Moodle. CloudLinux isolates hosting accounts and manages resource allocation, while Imunify360 and Patchman provide additional security against malicious activity and vulnerable website software.

Free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates are automatically renewed. Shared hosting also includes advanced backups covering the previous 30 days, with restoration available at individual file and database-table level. Compatible websites can be migrated with Installatron.

The Reseller / Multidomain Hosting range uses the same general platform while allowing unlimited websites and customer subaccounts. It is suitable for agencies, developers and hosting resellers and can operate as a white-label service. Storage allocations are 15 GB, 30 GB and 60 GB, with unlimited traffic, mailboxes, mailing lists and databases.

Reseller plans also include DirectAdmin, CloudLinux, Installatron, Imunify360, Patchman, SSL certificates and 30-day advanced backups. Customers can create hosting packages and separate user accounts directly through DirectAdmin.

Shared and reseller hosting run on enterprise hardware that includes Supermicro AS-1024US-TRT systems, dual AMD EPYC processors, 256 GB ECC registered DDR4 memory and RAID 10 storage built from enterprise Kioxia NVMe SSDs. This gives the shared platform considerably stronger hardware foundations than inexpensive hosting environments based on consumer-class drives.

For customers needing more isolation, the Cloud VPS platform runs on a Proxmox high-availability cluster. Storage is based on Ceph, with data distributed and replicated across at least four nodes. A separate 80 Gb/s storage network connects the platform, helping to keep storage replication traffic separate from normal customer connectivity.

The VPS range begins with 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM and 15 GB of storage and scales through configurations of 2 vCPU with 2 GB RAM and 30 GB storage, 3 vCPU with 4 GB RAM and 60 GB storage, and 4 vCPU with 8 GB RAM and 120 GB storage. Customized VPS configurations are also available.

DirectAdmin, Installatron, advanced 30-day backups, additional administration and extra dedicated IP addresses can be added separately to VPS packages. This makes the service flexible for both experienced administrators and customers who prefer a managed environment.

Dedicated Servers provide the highest level of resource isolation. The entry configuration includes 24 GB RAM and four dedicated IPv4 addresses, while the larger configuration provides 48 GB RAM and eight IP addresses. Options include DirectAdmin, advanced backups, symmetric gigabit connectivity and managed system administration.

The SSL certificate range covers both inexpensive domain-validation products and higher-assurance business certificates. Available products include Sectigo Positive SSL, Sectigo Instant SSL, wildcard certificates, GeoTrust QuickSSL Premium and Extended Validation certificates. Free Let's Encrypt certificates already cover the normal requirements of shared-hosting customers, while paid certificates are useful when organization validation, EV validation, wildcard protection or commercial warranty coverage is needed.

The main website is primarily available in Spanish, matching the company's domestic customer base. The customer portal offers a considerably broader selection of languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Dutch, Russian, Turkish and Chinese. Billing is handled in EUR.
