HorizonIQ is a US infrastructure provider focused on managed private cloud, bare metal servers, GPU computing, virtual private cloud, enterprise storage, networking and managed security. Its services are built for businesses, SaaS platforms, developers, artificial intelligence projects and organizations running persistent or performance-sensitive workloads rather than customers looking for basic shared hosting.

The HorizonIQ brand was introduced in January 2024, while the company’s operating history reaches back to Internap, founded in Seattle in 1996. Internap developed the Managed Internet Route Optimizer technology known as MIRO and expanded through cloud infrastructure, colocation, hosting and managed services.

SingleHop, founded in Chicago in 2006, became part of Internap through a $132 million acquisition in 2018. This transaction added automated server provisioning and the customer-management technology that later developed into the Compass platform.

HorizonIQ became part of Summit (summithq.com) through an acquisition announced on December 1, 2025. The combination added HorizonIQ’s automated bare-metal platform, Proxmox private-cloud expertise and nine principal infrastructure regions to Summit’s managed IT and data-center business.

The central service is Managed Private Cloud, available with Proxmox VE or VMware. These platforms run on dedicated, single-tenant hardware instead of shared public-cloud hosts. Standard deployments begin with three nodes, a 10 Gbps virtual firewall and either hyperconverged storage for Proxmox or block storage for VMware.

Essential, Advanced and Ultimate configurations provide increasing CPU, memory and storage capacity. Proxmox environments range from 24 cores and 128 GB RAM per node to 48 cores and 256 GB RAM per node, with larger memory upgrades available for demanding workloads. VMware configurations follow a similar compute structure.

Supported operating systems include Windows, Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux and Red Hat. Customers manage virtual machines through the Proxmox interface or VMware vCenter, while HorizonIQ handles the underlying hardware, hypervisor configuration, infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, firewall setup and supported operating-system patching.

Optional private-cloud components include additional compute nodes, redundant firewalls, managed load balancers, dedicated storage systems, local backup, offsite backup and complete disaster-recovery environments. VMware backups can be replicated to Chicago or Phoenix.

Bare Metal Servers cover everything from development systems and web applications to databases, storage platforms and large enterprise deployments. Entry configurations suit lighter workloads, while more powerful systems use Intel Xeon Gold or AMD EPYC processors, dual CPUs, several terabytes of RAM and large SATA, SSD or NVMe arrays.

The hardware catalog includes more than 50 processor options, with customized storage configurations reaching hundreds of terabytes. Operating-system choices include Windows, Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux and Red Hat, together with Proxmox and VMware ESXi for customers building their own virtualization environments.

Each bare-metal server normally includes one IPv4 address, while additional IPv4 addresses can be ordered. IPv6 is available in selected locations. Standard connectivity includes unlimited inbound traffic and 10 TB of outbound transfer per server, with additional outbound usage charged separately.

GPU Dedicated Servers use NVIDIA H200, H100 and L40S accelerators for AI inference, machine learning, model training, high-performance computing, 3D rendering and media processing. Deployments can begin with three nodes and expand to hundreds of GPUs. Standard server designs support up to two accelerators per server, with managed administration available for customers that do not want to maintain the complete hardware and software stack internally.

Virtual Private Cloud provides isolated compute, storage and networking resources on a multi-tenant platform. It works well for ecommerce systems, business applications, backup infrastructure, disaster recovery and web hosting that requires more flexibility than a dedicated physical server. Unlike Managed Private Cloud, the underlying hardware is shared between multiple customers.

The storage portfolio includes Block Storage, Object Storage and backup infrastructure. Block storage is available through multi-tenant or dedicated systems using hybrid or NVMe flash hardware. Access options include iSCSI, NFS and Fibre Channel.

Multi-tenant block-storage tiers start at 1 TB and provide between 500 and 1,700 IOPS per TB. Dedicated arrays are intended for larger databases, analytics, virtual desktop infrastructure, private cloud and enterprise backup environments. Minimum capacities range from approximately 50 TB to 500 TB, depending on the selected performance tier.

Object Storage is compatible with the S3 API and uses NVMe flash systems. Multi-tenant and dedicated configurations provide 99.9% availability and at least eleven nines of data durability. Performance ranges from approximately 2,000 requests per second per bucket to around 1.5 million requests per second on the largest dedicated tier.

Object-storage billing does not add separate charges for retrieval, API operations or data egress. A lower-cost cold-storage service known as On-Ice remains planned for future availability.

Backup and Recovery can be integrated with private-cloud environments through local backup arrays, offsite replication, encrypted transfers, role-based access and multifactor authentication. VMware backup uses Veeam technology, while complete disaster-recovery configurations can replicate an entire private-cloud environment rather than only individual files or virtual machines.

Networking services include IP Transit and HorizonIQ Connect. IP Transit combines three network carriers, unlimited inbound traffic and 10 TB of outbound transfer for each server or node. Network ports can reach 25 Gbps.

HorizonIQ Connect provides private Layer 2 connectivity to more than 280 cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. Port capacity can reach 100 Gbps, with dual virtual cross-connects, VLAN isolation and private encrypted backbone transport available for resilient hybrid-cloud designs.

Managed Load Balancers are available as virtual appliances or dedicated hardware. They support Layer 4 and Layer 7 traffic, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, UDP, SSL termination, health checks, persistent sessions, geographic traffic management and balancing between multiple data centers.

Entry virtual configurations support up to 900 Mbps. Larger dedicated appliances reach approximately 80 Gbps and can process around five million Layer 4 connections per second.

Security services include Virtual Firewalls, Dedicated Firewalls and DDoS Mitigation. Firewall functions include NAT, geographic blocking, traffic shaping, IPsec VPN, client SSL VPN, active-standby failover, threat prevention and URL filtering on higher service tiers.

DDoS protection covers Layer 3, Layer 4 and Layer 7 attacks through continuous traffic analysis, behavioral detection and managed mitigation.

Infrastructure in a Box combines compute, storage, firewall and networking under one contract. Configurations range from a single server with a virtual firewall to ten-node environments with redundant firewalls, dedicated load balancing and multi-terabyte storage. Customers can choose managed administration or retain control of the operating environment themselves.
