Hitrost.com is an independent Slovenian web hosting and domain provider with a service history dating back to 2004. The present operating company, HITROST.COM internet storitve d.o.o., is headquartered in Jesenice and was incorporated on July 11, 2007. The hosting brand therefore predates the current limited company and has been active in the Slovenian hosting market for more than two decades.

The company remains a relatively compact locally operated provider rather than part of a large international hosting group. Ownership is divided equally between Miha Graj, Domen Branc and Gregor Branc, each holding 33.33%, with Miha Graj serving as director. The company employed four people in 2025, reflecting its small-team structure and strong concentration on the domestic Slovenian market.

The service portfolio covers Domain Registration, Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Email Hosting, KVM VPS, SSL Certificates, Website Builder, WordPress tools, DNS and related website administration services. This combination is broad enough for personal websites, small and medium businesses, agencies, developers and customers requiring their own virtual server.

Web Hosting is built around LiteSpeed, LSCache, enterprise NVMe/SSD storage in RAID 10 and Intel Xeon Gold processors. Imunify360 adds server-level protection, while accounts also include daily backups, free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates, QUIC and HTTP/3, MySQL/MariaDB databases, FTP/FTPS and SSH access. Customers can select different PHP versions and also have access to Node.js and Python on supported configurations.

The higher plans reach six CPU cores and 12 GB RAM, while PRO Ultra also includes Redis Object Cache.

Security is particularly strong for a shared hosting service at this price level. The platform combines Imunify360, application-level filtering, malware scanning, brute-force protection and defenses against common web attacks including SQL injection. LiteSpeed and NVMe storage provide a good foundation for WordPress, WooCommerce and other dynamic PHP applications where storage latency and caching can have a noticeable effect on performance.

Reseller Hosting is suitable for web agencies, developers and hosting resellers that want to create separate customer accounts under their own identity. It uses DirectAdmin, LiteSpeed, NVMe/SSD RAID 10 storage, Imunify360 and daily backups. Storage starts at 30 GB and reaches 220 GB on the regular range, with the largest package expandable to 400 GB.

The reseller platform retains developer tools including SSH, Git, Composer, WP-CLI, selectable PHP versions, Node.js and Python. A Website Builder is also included for hosted domains. This makes reseller hosting useful not only for conventional hosting companies but also for agencies maintaining multiple independent customer websites.

Email Hosting can be ordered separately from website hosting. Packages range from 5 GB with three mailboxes to 500 GB with 100 mailboxes, while the largest option can be expanded to 600 GB. Storage can be distributed between individual mailboxes, which is more flexible than assigning the same small fixed quota to every account.

Email access is available through secure IMAPS, POP3S and SMTPS connections, together with Roundcube webmail and calendar functionality. Protection includes SpamAssassin, antivirus filtering, DNS/RBL filtering, SPF, DKIM, SRS and GeoIP-based SMTP controls. Daily backups are included with the service.

The VPS Hosting range uses KVM virtualization and provides root access, a dedicated IP address and NVMe/SSD RAID 10 storage. Standard configurations start with 4 vCPU, 6 GB RAM and 50 GB storage and scale to 6 vCPU, 32 GB RAM and 300 GB storage. The larger configuration can be expanded to 400 GB. Server infrastructure is connected at up to 10 Gbps.

Custom VPS configurations are available when the standard packages are not sufficient. These servers use enterprise Intel Xeon Gold hardware and large host-memory configurations. DirectAdmin can also be added when customers prefer a graphical server administration environment instead of managing everything through the command line.

VPS backups are created daily as raw server images and stored separately from the production system. Up to seven daily recovery points are retained for active VPS services, providing a practical rollback option after configuration errors, software failures or damaged data.

Domain registration covers more than 1,000 domain extensions, including .si, .eu, .com and a large selection of newer generic TLDs. DNS hosting is included, while WHOIS privacy can be used without additional cost on extensions whose registry rules permit private registration data.

SSL services include both free Let's Encrypt certificates for hosting customers and paid certificates for organizations requiring additional validation. Available categories include Domain Validation, Organization Validation, Extended Validation, Wildcard and multi-domain/SAN certificates from brands including GoGetSSL, Sectigo and GeoTrust.

The integrated Website Builder is included with shared and reseller hosting. It provides more than 600 responsive templates and over 100 widgets. Customers can also install more than 200 web applications, including WordPress and Joomla, through automated application tools.

WordPress management includes cloning, staging, updates, backups and migration functionality. Additional WordPress troubleshooting, optimization and maintenance can be purchased separately when a customer needs hands-on technical assistance rather than only the hosting environment.
