HahuCloud is an Ethiopian web hosting and digital-services company founded in 2017 by Yared Ayalew, who continues to lead the business as founder and CEO. The company operates through HahuCloud Technologies PLC from Addis Ababa and focuses primarily on individuals, developers, organizations and businesses that need locally accessible hosting services and Ethiopian payment options.

The name "Hahu" comes from ሀ and ሁ, the first two letters of the Ethiopian Ge’ez alphabet. This identity fits naturally with the company’s concentration on the Ethiopian market, especially through `.et` domain registration, local customer assistance and payments through Ethiopian banks and mobile-wallet services.

The product range extends well beyond conventional shared hosting. Customers can purchase Linux shared hosting, managed WordPress hosting, unmanaged VPS servers, dedicated-CPU cloud instances, professional email, domains, SSL certificates, web design and related online-business services. An Ethiopian SMS gateway is also being developed for transactional messages, OTP delivery, scheduled campaigns, bulk messaging and API integrations.

Linux shared hosting is the central service. Four packages cover personal sites, development projects, business websites and larger multi-site accounts. Storage ranges from 60 GB to 250 GB NVMe, with between 2 GB and 4 GB RAM, two to four CPU cores and support for three to fifteen hosted websites.

Every shared package includes cPanel, a free SSL certificate, a free `.com` or `.et` domain, FTP and FTPS access, email hosting and CDN integration through Cloudflare. The storage allocations are generous compared with many entry-level hosting plans, particularly for customers running several websites or maintaining large media libraries.

The shared environment supports PHP versions from 5.4 through 8.3, together with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Node.js and Python. MongoDB is not available on shared accounts, so projects requiring it need a VPS. Developers also receive terminal access, cron jobs, DNS management, phpMyAdmin, Softaculous and the standard cPanel file and database tools.

Backup retention is another strong point. Standard, Professional and Enterprise accounts receive daily backups kept for 21 days. Enterprise Plus increases the frequency to six automated backups each day and retains recovery points for as long as 90 days. This is especially valuable for frequently updated websites, online stores and business applications where a single daily copy may not be sufficient.

HahuPress Pro is the managed WordPress option. It includes 250 GB SSD storage, unlimited traffic, unlimited databases and mailboxes, a free `.com` domain, wildcard SSL, a global CDN, malware scanning, WordPress staging, SSH and WP-CLI access.

HahuPress uses StackCP and a customized HahuPress management interface rather than cPanel. The platform is more streamlined for WordPress-only customers and provides direct access to staging, files, themes, plugins and security controls. DNS services for this environment use infrastructure associated with Google.

The VPS hosting range is based on cloud infrastructure from DigitalOcean. VPS customers receive root SSH access, dedicated IPv4 or IPv6 addressing, SSD or NVMe storage and a choice of Linux distributions that includes Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS and Fedora. Resources can be increased as traffic, memory requirements or processing demands grow.

The lower-priced Personal VPS packages are restricted to non-commercial use. Companies and commercial projects must select the Enterprise VPS range. This distinction is important because enterprise pricing is considerably higher than personal pricing, even when the underlying server specifications are similar.

VPS servers are unmanaged. Customers remain responsible for the operating system, software installation, server hardening, security updates, application configuration and troubleshooting. Standard automated backups are not included, although weekly backup service can be arranged as a paid option through support. These plans are consequently better suited to experienced administrators, developers or businesses with their own technical staff.

Dedicated CPU Servers provide virtual cloud instances with dedicated processing resources. They are designed for applications that need more consistent CPU performance than a conventional shared-vCPU server. These are cloud instances rather than traditional physical bare-metal dedicated servers. Public configurations and fixed prices are not available, so specifications and quotations must be requested directly.

Hahu Workspace combines professional email, collaboration and online storage under the customer’s own domain. The service uses CrossBox for email and collaboration, Nextcloud for file storage and SpamExperts for filtering unwanted or malicious messages.

Entry Workspace packages include 30 GB for five email users and 100 GB for ten users. Larger configurations with 250 GB, 500 GB and 2 TB are also available for organizations requiring more storage or additional accounts.

Domain services cover `.com`, `.net`, `.org`, `.info`, `.biz`, `.et` and other extensions. Customers can manage renewals, nameservers, DNS records, transfers and WHOIS information through the account dashboard. Domain privacy is available for extensions that support it, while `.et` registration gives Ethiopian organizations and local businesses a recognizable national identity.

Free SSL is included with the hosting packages. Commercial certificates are also available for customers requiring separately issued single-domain, wildcard or multi-domain certificates from Comodo or Sectigo.

The web-design service is intended for businesses that need a complete website rather than hosting alone. Work can include custom design, mobile-responsive layouts, SEO-ready structure, performance optimization, development, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.

The website uses a modern responsive layout that works properly on current desktop and mobile screens. English is the principal language, and no complete Amharic or other localized website version exists. The customer portal supports pricing and billing in Ethiopian Birr and US dollars.
