GNS Sweden AB, commonly known as GNS or Global Network Solution, is a Stockholm-based hosting, cloud and IT infrastructure provider whose service history goes back to 2003. The present GNS Sweden AB legal entity was formed in 2009, meaning that the hosting operation predates the current limited company. Goran Grcic is CEO and owner of the company.

GNS is particularly suitable for Swedish organizations that want hosting, infrastructure and technical support from a domestic provider. They operate their own server halls in Sweden, and customer data hosted within this Swedish infrastructure remains in Sweden. Renewable electricity is used for the server halls, while the overall portfolio covers everything from ordinary websites to business-critical virtual and physical servers, backup systems, remote workplaces and colocation.

The service range includes Web Hosting, Managed WordPress, Umbraco Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Colocation, IaaS, High Availability Hosting, Hosted SAN, Hosted Exchange, Microsoft 365, Remote Desktop, Hosted Terminal Server, domains, SSL certificates, online backup, Veeam backup, Acronis Cyber Protect, firewall and SSL VPN, IP telephony, cloud PBX, IT support, migrations, monitoring, web development and application development. This makes GNS considerably broader than a traditional shared-hosting provider and puts much of its focus on managed business infrastructure.

The conventional Web Hosting platform is particularly useful for customers requiring Microsoft technologies. It combines PHP and MySQL hosting with Microsoft IIS, ASP.NET, .NET Core and MS SQL Server 2022. FTP access, unlimited subdomains, email accounts, POP3/IMAP access, antivirus and spam filtering, visitor statistics, raw logs, custom error pages and one-click application installation are also included. WordPress, Joomla and Drupal can work with MySQL, while Umbraco and other .NET applications can use MS SQL. New customers can also receive free website migration and a 30-day trial.

The conventional hosting plans remain relatively modest in storage compared with modern mass-market shared hosts. The detailed configurations provide approximately 500 MB, 1 GB and 1.5 GB of web storage, accompanied by 50 GB, 75 GB and 100 GB of monthly traffic. The larger packages add considerably more email and database capacity. These plans therefore make the most sense for smaller business websites, Windows applications and customers specifically requiring IIS, ASP.NET or MS SQL rather than those primarily looking for large amounts of inexpensive storage.

The VPS range uses NVMe storage and provides dedicated virtual resources together with administrator or root access. Both Windows and Linux operating systems are supported. Configurations begin around 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM and 60 GB NVMe, with larger options providing 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 120 GB NVMe or 8 vCPU, 16 GB RAM and 240 GB NVMe. For workloads requiring exclusive physical resources, Dedicated Servers are available with Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC processors and support for Windows and Linux. Entry configurations start with 4 cores, 16 GB RAM and two 480 GB SSDs, while High Performance systems provide 16 cores, 64 GB RAM and four 1.92 TB NVMe drives. Enterprise configurations start at 32 cores and 128 GB RAM and can be customized. Dedicated packages include multiple IP addresses, DDoS protection, nightly backups, continuous monitoring and Swedish support. Typical provisioning takes approximately 24–48 hours.

Colocation is another important part of GNS. Customers can install equipment ranging from a single 1U server to 10U quarter cabinets, 21U half cabinets, 42U full racks, customer-owned racks and private cages. Fixed electricity pricing can be maintained for the contractual period, which is useful for companies requiring predictable infrastructure costs. 10 Gbit dark fiber connectivity is also available within the Stockholm area.

The cloud portfolio includes Remote Desktop based on Windows Server 2025. A hosted Windows workplace can be combined with Microsoft Office, Hosted Exchange, shared file storage and daily backup. The environment is suitable for applications such as Visma and Hogia and can also be equipped with GPU resources for more demanding workloads. Remote Desktop includes a 30-day free trial, no startup fee and no binding period.

Backup and disaster recovery are significant parts of the GNS portfolio. Veeam (veeam.com) Cloud Connect provides encrypted offsite backup and replication to Swedish datacenters, including protection for virtual machine environments and optional Disaster Recovery as a Service. Disaster recovery environments can be prepared so protected workloads can fail over into GNS infrastructure, with suitable DR configurations targeting restoration in approximately 15 minutes.

Microsoft 365 Backup is available for Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. Acronis Cyber Protect adds backup, antivirus, anti-malware, EDR/MDR, email protection, vulnerability assessment, patch management and security-awareness functionality. Data associated with this managed environment remains within GNS's Swedish datacenters.

The main gns.se service is Swedish-language, while GNS also maintains an international presence through gns.net and regional services aimed at Germany, Finland, Åland, Luxembourg, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Iceland, Norway and Denmark. The broader organization therefore has a considerably more international footprint than the Swedish hosting operation alone might suggest.

The website is reasonably modern and the product portfolio remains active, although some service sections retain both older and newer package information. Shared hosting and dedicated servers are the clearest examples, with different price figures appearing within the available commercial information. Obtaining written confirmation of the exact configuration and current monthly charge before ordering is therefore advisable.
