*📜 Plan description

Ideal for smaller Linux instances, providing more resources than the Smart plan, but not recommended for Windows users. It includes 2 GB RAM, 20 GB NVMe SSD storage, 2 TB monthly traffic, 2 x 10 Gbps uplink capacity and 1 Intel vCPU. The plan is VPN-ready for Linux VPS server use and supports Cloud-Init, making it a better entry option for small production sites, lightweight control services, private networking, smaller application stacks, development workloads and Linux-based server projects that need more RAM and traffic than the lowest tier.

All Graz VPS plans run in Austria on KVM virtualization with dedicated CPU and memory resources, full root access for Linux systems, a dedicated static IPv4 address and 2 x 10 Gbps uplinks. The service supports Linux installation through an auto installer, with Windows options available on larger configurations where resources are more appropriate. Cloud-Init images, reverse DNS, bring-your-own ISO or QCOW2, optional VLAN, additional IPv4 addresses, scalable RAM, extra vCPU capacity, traffic pool management and flexible NVMe storage expansion are available through the control panel. The Graz location is built for low latency to Austria, Germany, Northern Italy and Central Europe and suits websites, APIs, SaaS backends, VPN endpoints, automation, staging and application hosting. Infrastructure is hosted at T-Systems Nexspace in Graz in a Tier III or Tier III+ class environment with optimized Austrian routing. Every new VPS includes 100 GB Traffic Pool Starter Credit, and annual billing includes one month free.

📄 Editorial Review

EDIS is a long-running Austrian hosting provider with roots going back to 1999. The company started as a domain registrar and hosting provider, became an accredited nic.at registrar in 2000, built its own data center infrastructure in Graz in 2001, and later expanded from Austrian hosting into international virtualization and global infrastructure. In 2023, the VPS business was separated into EDIS Global, so the current structure is best understood as two connected service directions: EDIS.at for Austrian hosting, domains, website builder, email, DNS, and security add-ons, and EDIS Global for KVM VPS, Windows VPS, Linux VPS, global server locations, and dedicated-server-related infrastructure.

The company is not just a basic shared-hosting brand. Their current portfolio includes domain registration, shared hosting, global web hosting, website builder, email hosting, DNS, Anycast DNS, DNSSEC, SSL, spam and virus filtering, mail backup, KVM VPS, Windows VPS, Linux VPS, dedicated servers, infrastructure services, API-based VPS management, and geolocated IP hosting. This makes EDIS relevant for small businesses, developers, agencies, sysadmins, VPN operators, SaaS projects, trading systems, and customers who need hosting in a specific country rather than only in the usual large European data center hubs.

EDIS.at has a strong Austrian identity. The hosting platform is GDPR-oriented, emails are stored in Austria, and the service runs on green hosting powered by 100% Austrian hydropower. Shared hosting includes NVMe storage, Ceph/CephFS storage, S3 buckets, PHP 8.4, MySQL 8, daily backups, Barracuda-powered email protection, POP3/IMAP/SMTP, webmail, and application installation tools. The current shared hosting range includes Mokka, Ristretto, Espresso, Doppio, and Enterprise, covering anything from smaller websites and email accounts to larger business hosting with more storage, more mailboxes, more databases, and higher PHP limits.

A useful differentiator is Global Web Hosting. EDIS can place web hosting in more than 40 countries, with local IP geolocation and no surcharge over the regular hosting package price. Email and backups remain in Austria, which is a practical model for customers who want an international web presence while keeping sensitive mail and backup data under Austrian/EU handling.

EDIS Global extends the business into a much wider VPS footprint. The platform offers KVM VPS and Windows VPS in more than 50 locations, with dedicated CPU/RAM allocation, NVMe storage, full root or administrator access, static IPv4, geolocated local IP addresses, custom ISO/QCOW2 options, TUN/TAP, rDNS, traffic pooling, API access, and instant OS deployment. This is one of the stronger parts of the company today, especially for technical customers who want very specific regional placement, routing, IP geolocation, or multi-country server coverage.

The domain side remains important as well. Domain registration has been part of EDIS since 1999, with free Anycast DNS, DNSSEC support, no setup fee, immediate registration or transfer, and the same price for the first year and following years. That straightforward domain-pricing model is better than the common low first-year / expensive-renewal approach.

From a customer-reputation perspective, EDIS has a mixed but still credible WHTop profile. The current WHTop listing shows a 6.5/10 average rating from 14 user reviews, with both positive and negative feedback and official responses. That fits the general picture of a technically capable provider with a long history, but also one where customers should read the cancellation, refund, renewal, support-scope, and acceptable-use rules before ordering.
