DobroHost is a technically focused Russian hosting provider founded on May 13, 2004 by Nikolay Sergeyevich Knutov, an experienced hosting developer and system administrator. The business operates from Perm under the legal entity IP Knutov Nikolay Sergeyevich and entered its 22nd year of activity in 2026.

The company remains independent and relatively small, with an estimated team of 2–10 employees. Its services concentrate on PHP developers, WordPress websites, Russian businesses, and projects built with 1C-Bitrix. This specialization makes DobroHost different from larger providers that divide their attention between dozens of unrelated infrastructure products.

DobroHost originally operated through a reseller account using cPanel. Over time, the company moved to its own servers, network equipment, billing system, and proprietary hosting control panel. Its technical environment also uses customized builds of PHP, Nginx, Apache, and msmtp, including internal modifications created to improve compatibility and performance.

The main service is PHP Shared Hosting. Packages support between one and an unlimited number of websites, with storage capacities ranging from 1 GB to 50 GB. Standard functionality includes free SSL certificates, automatic backups, email accounts, DNS management, databases, cron jobs, Git access, SSH access, Perl, traffic statistics, and one-click WordPress installation.

Different websites within the same account can use separate PHP versions. The hosting environment supports PHP releases from 5.2 through 8.0, which is particularly useful for maintaining legacy applications. 1C-Bitrix Hosting is one of the company’s strongest products. These packages are optimized for Russian business websites, corporate portals, product catalogs, and online stores using the 1C-Bitrix platform. Storage capacities range from 5 GB to 400 GB, while the permitted number of websites ranges from ten to unlimited.

The proprietary control panel can install 1C-Bitrix, create its database, prepare the required configuration, reinstall the application, and restore it from a backup. The hosting environment also includes Memcached, cron, Git, SSH, automated backups, and free SSL certificates. A ten-day trial allows the service to be tested without entering payment-card details.

VPS/VDS Hosting is intended for projects requiring isolated resources, root access, and greater control over the server environment. The active VDS configurations operate in Moscow, Russia, using container virtualization together with SSD or NVMe storage. Every server includes one dedicated IPv4 address.

The available configurations provide between 20 GB and 500 GB of disk space, 2 GB to 8 GB of RAM, and between two and eight CPU cores. Each package separates the total burstable CPU allocation from the number of guaranteed cores. VDS customers receive root access through SSH. Free backup storage is included with VDS packages, although the system must first be activated and configured by technical support. Later backup and restoration operations are managed through command-line tools over SSH.

Backups are among DobroHost’s most valuable features. Shared-hosting accounts are copied automatically every night, while additional manual backups can be created without a fixed numerical limit. Backup files do not consume the normal hosting storage allocation.

The retention schedule includes recovery points from one, two, and three months earlier; one, two, and three weeks earlier; and every backup created during the previous nine days. Both website files and databases are protected. Customers can restore an entire account, an individual website, or a selected database.

VDS backup capacity normally matches the server’s disk allocation. Compression and deduplication can preserve several dozen restore points when the amount of data changed each day remains moderate.

Additional products include domain registration and renewal, commercial SSL certificates, free Let’s Encrypt certificates, 1C-Bitrix licenses, Bitrix24 licenses, and software-license upgrades. New domain registrations are temporarily handled through customer support while registrar integrations are being updated, while existing domains can still be renewed from the customer account.

Annual hosting subscriptions can include a free .ru or .рф domain, subject to tariff restrictions. Qualifying 1C-Bitrix license purchases also include one year of hosting. License renewals and upgrades generate a 10% cashback credit that can be applied to other DobroHost services.

DobroHost concentrates on Linux shared hosting, Bitrix hosting, and virtual servers. Dedicated servers, Windows shared hosting, reseller hosting, colocation, and a multi-region public cloud are not part of the standard product range.
