DomainFactory is one of Germany's long-established web hosting companies. Its history goes back to 2000, with Jochen Tuchbreiter and Tobias Marburg associated with the creation of the business. DomainFactory later became part of Host Europe Group, and following the acquisition of that group, it has belonged to GoDaddy since 2017. The company remains headquartered in Munich and manages more than 1.3 million domains for over 220,000 customers.

The current portfolio covers domain registration, shared hosting, Webhosting Plus, managed WordPress, agency-oriented WordPress hosting, WooCommerce hosting, VPS, professional email, Microsoft 365, SSL certificates, website security, website building and online-shop services. Reseller Hosting, Managed Cloud Server and several older product families also remain part of the environment for existing customers, while VPS has become the primary server option for new customers. Conventional bare-metal dedicated servers are no longer part of the standard new-customer range.

Webhosting Starter provides an affordable entry point with 10 GB NVMe storage, one MariaDB database, SSH and FTPS access, unlimited traffic, SSL and cPanel. A .de domain and a professional mailbox are included during the applicable introductory period. Daily backups are available, CloudLinux separates individual customer accounts, and Installatron provides access to more than 125 applications such as WordPress, Joomla, TYPO3 and Drupal.

The regular Webhosting packages offer more storage and resources for conventional websites, CMS installations and small business projects. The Standard level starts with 25 GB NVMe storage, while larger plans increase the number of websites, databases and available resources. SSL, professional email and cPanel administration are integrated into these packages.

Webhosting Plus is intended for agencies, developers and websites that need considerably more CPU and memory without moving directly to a VPS. The entry configuration provides 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe storage and support for up to 50 websites. Larger configurations scale to 4 vCPU with 8 GB RAM, 8 vCPU with 16 GB RAM and finally 16 vCPU with 32 GB RAM, up to 400 GB NVMe storage and as many as 200 websites. SSL, daily backups, SSH, FTPS, unlimited traffic and cPanel are included.

The WordPress Hosting range provides a managed environment with WordPress already installed, automated core and security maintenance, backups and one-click restoration. SSL, staging and malware scanning are also integrated. WordPress Pro is better suited to designers and agencies managing several customer websites, with packages supporting 5, 10, 25 or 50 WordPress installations.

A separate WooCommerce Hosting platform targets online stores and adds Varnish caching, CDN functionality, staging, daily and manually initiated backups with extended retention, and additional WordPress management functions. This gives customers a managed alternative to maintaining their own e-commerce stack on a VPS.

The VPS range now covers a substantial part of DomainFactory's server offering. Standard and high-performance configurations start with 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM and 40 GB NVMe storage and scale up to 32 vCPU, 128 GB RAM and 1.5 TB NVMe SSD. Debian, Ubuntu and AlmaLinux are available, while suitable plans can also use Windows Server. Root-level SSH or RDP access, dedicated IP addressing, daily backups, DDoS protection, monitoring, unlimited bandwidth and network connectivity of up to 1 Gbit/s are included. VPS servers can also be used for reseller activity.

Domain registration remains an important part of the business, with more than 220 domain extensions available. Transfers are free, and customers receive DNS administration, custom nameserver options, WHOIS configuration and IPv4/IPv6 support. Promotional prices are frequently available for popular extensions such as .de and .com, with standard renewal pricing applying after the introductory term.

The Professional Email service is based on Titan and offers mailboxes from 10 GB to 100 GB depending on the package. Webmail, mobile applications, calendars, contacts, tasks, spam filtering and antivirus protection are available throughout the range. Higher plans add features such as AI-assisted writing, meetings, email campaigns, message tracking and professional signatures.

Microsoft 365 is offered separately for companies needing Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and Microsoft's business collaboration environment.

The Homepage Builder gives less technical users a visual way to create responsive websites without maintaining a CMS. Paid versions add a domain, SSL and professional email, while the Business package also includes backup functionality and HTML/CSS customization.

The Online Shop platform supports stores ranging from approximately 100 products to unlimited product catalogs. Digital downloads, SEO and marketing functions, social-media integration and more than 40 payment methods are available, and multilingual online stores can also be created.

Security services include SSL certificates and Sucuri-based website protection. Domain SSL covers basic domain validation, while Organization Validation and Extended Validation certificates add company verification. Since March 2026, newly issued SSL certificates use a six-month technical validity period with automatic renewal unless this is disabled. Sucuri services add malware scanning and cleanup, blacklist monitoring and, on higher packages, WAF protection, CDN functionality, backups and faster incident handling.

Services are primarily offered in German, making DomainFactory particularly suitable for customers in Germany and the wider German-speaking market. Prices are displayed in EUR and generally include German VAT when aimed at consumers. The interface is modern and suitable for both desktop and mobile use.
