📄 Editorial Review
CreeperHost is a British game-server and infrastructure provider founded in 2011 by Paul Taylor. CreeperHost Ltd was incorporated in England on February 13, 2013, under company number 08401051, with data processing, hosting and related activities as its registered business. Paul Thomas Taylor is the founder and CEO and remains the controlling shareholder, with the right to appoint or remove directors.Gaming remains the company's main specialization, particularly Minecraft and modded Minecraft, but CreeperHost has expanded far beyond a single-game hosting provider. More than 90 games are supported, including Minecraft Java and Bedrock, ARK, Valheim, Terraria, Factorio, Vintage Story, Rust, Project Zomboid, Palworld, Satisfactory, 7 Days to Die, Garry's Mod, DayZ, Counter-Strike 2, Enshrouded, Space Engineers and many other multiplayer titles. Customers can switch between supported games and modpacks from the same hosting environment rather than ordering a completely separate server each time.
CreeperHost also supports several non-game server applications, including TeamSpeak, Mumble, MariaDB, NGINX, Docker, OpenVPN and Bitwarden. This makes the platform useful for voice servers, databases, containers and smaller application workloads in addition to gaming, although it remains very different from a conventional shared web host built around WordPress and cPanel accounts.
The main hosting ranges are Eco, Premium and Pro. Eco is the budget platform and uses second-life enterprise hardware to reduce both cost and electronic waste. Unlike some low-cost game-hosting platforms, Eco servers remain online continuously instead of shutting down when players disconnect. Current configurations provide two vCores, between 4 GB and 16 GB of conventional RAM, an additional 2 GB of Bonus Memory and between 15 GB and 30 GB of SSD storage.
Eco is intentionally managed almost entirely through CreeperPanel. SSH and sFTP are not included, while Turbo Start and Ask Theo are also reserved for higher service levels. Mods, configuration changes and general server administration can still be handled from the panel, and an Eco service can later be upgraded to Premium without rebuilding everything from scratch.
Premium is the main CreeperHost platform and works as a managed Hybrid VPS environment. It combines stronger hardware with CreeperPanel, SSH on supported services, temporary Turbo Start processing capacity and Bonus Memory. Turbo Start can provide additional CPU performance for as long as 15 minutes during demanding startup, world generation or modpack loading and can become available again once per hour.
Bonus Memory is kept clearly separate from normal physical RAM. It uses high-speed NVMe-backed storage and can help workloads that temporarily exceed their regular memory allocation, but it should not be treated as equivalent to physical server memory.
Premium ranges from small two-vCore services to configurations with 6 vCores, 24 GB of normal RAM, another 24 GB of Bonus Memory and 120 GB of SSD storage. Premium customers can also move their server between available CreeperHost locations free of charge up to three times each month, which is useful for communities whose player base or network requirements change over time.
Pro moves to genuine dedicated hardware rather than shared game-server resources. These machines are intended for large communities, demanding modpacks and applications requiring predictable CPU and memory availability. Hardware inventory changes regularly, but systems include Intel Core i5 and i9, Xeon and AMD Ryzen processors with approximately 48 GB to 128 GB of RAM, SATA SSD or NVMe storage and commonly 1 Gbps connectivity. Selected systems support faster 10 GbE networking.
Dedicated inventory is commonly available in Grantham, Los Angeles, Dallas and New York. Provisioning can require up to 72 working hours, as these systems are manually prepared and checked before delivery. Pro servers remain integrated with CreeperPanel rather than operating as an entirely separate unmanaged hosting environment.
CreeperHost has built much of the platform internally. Customer environments use isolated containers with individual virtual drives, while management is handled through internal systems including Aries, Hermes, HermesMux, Demeter and Hera. The management infrastructure itself runs on a self-hosted Kubernetes cluster with approximately 1.4 TB RAM and 537 processor cores. That cluster handles the control and orchestration layer rather than hosting customer game workloads directly.
Backups are another well-developed part of the service. Cloud Saves uses CreeperHost's own S3-compatible storage platform with versioned backups and rollback through CreeperPanel. Core backup data is retained in the United Kingdom, while hosting nodes are also protected through daily Borg backups.
Most of the technical stack is operated internally instead of depending heavily on third-party management software. Billing is one notable exception and is handled through WHMCS.
Current Generation 7 hardware uses combinations of AMD EPYC, AMD Ryzen and Intel Ultra processors together with NVMe-only storage. Liquid cooling is also used in parts of the newer infrastructure. Shared game-hosting resources are oversubscribed, as is normal in this segment, but CreeperHost works with an internal target of keeping actual utilization below approximately 60%. Its UK Network Operations Centre monitors CPU, memory, swap, disk I/O and network load throughout the infrastructure.
The website is modern, responsive and considerably easier to navigate than older game-hosting storefronts. English is the primary interface language and no multi-language/localized version exists. International prices can be displayed in currencies such as USD, although the contractual billing currency remains GBP, so exchange-rate conversion can cause small differences between displayed and ultimately charged amounts.
