CloudAccess.net is a US-managed hosting provider founded in 2008 by Gary Jay Brooks. The business began in Indian River, Michigan, as MichiganMedia.net, initially concentrating on web design and consulting. Its direction changed after Gary Brooks became involved with the Joomla community and developed the concept of a longer cloud-hosted Joomla demonstration environment. CloudAccess.net secured the contract to operate Joomla’s official demonstration service in April 2010, turning the company into a recognized specialist in Joomla hosting, training, and application support.

Jonathan James Gafill became CEO in 2014 after previously working as project manager, support manager, chief operating officer, and head of several internal departments. By that stage, CloudAccess.net had already expanded beyond its original web-design activity and was hosting more than 20,000 websites with an international team.

CloudAccess.net joined Cloud Equity Group in May 2016. The company acquired Michigan-based Miller Media in June 2020, adding web development, branding, search marketing, and other professional services. On May 30, 2022, Miss Group (missgroup.com) acquired CloudAccess.net from Cloud Equity Group (cloudequitygroup.com). The wider service catalog includes domain registration, domain transfers, Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates, managed commercial SSL installation, Bolt DNS, staging, website replication, migration, professional development, template and theme customization, branding, CMS upgrades, website redesign, digital marketing, and complete website projects. Software companies can also use the SaaS API to generate temporary WordPress or Joomla installations from predefined packages.
