ChicagoVPS is a US-focused hosting provider established in 2009, initially building its business around affordable OpenVZ virtual private servers in Chicago. Over time it expanded into KVM and Windows VPS, shared and WordPress hosting, reseller hosting, Cloud Metal servers, dedicated servers, domains, backups, and application-oriented hosting. The company was acquired in 2015 by its primary infrastructure supplier, VSNX/ColoCrossing, and ChicagoVPS now operates within the broader HostPapa group. ColoCrossing remains especially important on the infrastructure side, while HostPapa is the current corporate owner.

The hosting range is particularly broad for a budget-oriented brand. Cloud VPS is one of the main services, starting at $3.95/month with 1 GB RAM, one vCPU, 25 GB SSD storage, one IPv4 address, and a 1 Gbps connection. Larger configurations reach 16 GB RAM, eight CPU cores, and 330 GB SSD storage. Depending on the configuration, traffic is either unmetered on a 1 Gbps connection or allocated as a large monthly allowance such as 20 TB. Routine VPS management, provisioning, restarting, reinstallation, and other common server operations can be handled through the customer management environment.

KVM VPS provides stronger virtualization isolation and more operating-system flexibility than OpenVZ. Configurations range from compact 512 MB RAM servers with 20 GB storage to packages with 4 GB RAM and 60 GB disk space. KVM is suitable for Linux, custom operating-system installations, and workloads where customers need better kernel-level isolation. Availability is currently limited, with the regular KVM packages showing no available stock in the ordering system.

The older OpenVZ SSD VPS line remains part of the ChicagoVPS catalog, with very low entry specifications beginning around 128 MB RAM and 3 GB SSD storage. Packages increase up to approximately 2 GB RAM. These plans belong to ChicagoVPS's traditional low-cost VPS heritage and are far smaller than what most modern applications require, so they are mainly suitable for lightweight services, testing, DNS, VPN, monitoring, or similarly modest workloads.

Windows VPS starts at $6.95/month for a configuration with 1 GB RAM, 30 GB SSD storage, one CPU core, 2 TB bandwidth, one IPv4 address, and a 1 Gbps port. Larger Professional, Enterprise, and Corporate configurations also exist, although several currently have no stock. Windows licensing and Remote Desktop access are included. Some Windows information still references older Windows Server releases such as 2008, 2012, and 2016, so customers requiring a specific supported Windows Server version should confirm the available operating-system templates before ordering.

Cloud Metal is positioned between a standard VPS and physical dedicated hardware. These KVM-based systems use dedicated CPU resources, SSD storage, and host nodes connected at 10 Gbps. A typical entry package provides 8 GB RAM, four dedicated CPU cores, 120 GB SSD storage, one IPv4 address, and 20 TB of traffic on a 1 Gbps port for around $20/month. Larger packages include 16 GB or 32 GB RAM, additional CPU resources, and up to 500 GB SSD storage. Cloud Metal is particularly useful for customers needing more predictable compute resources without paying for an entire physical machine.

Bare Metal Dedicated Servers cover both older Intel Xeon platforms and considerably newer AMD Ryzen systems. An entry configuration based on a Xeon E3-1240v3 starts around $59.95/month with 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD storage, four cores/eight threads, 40 TB bandwidth, and a 1 Gbps connection. Higher-end machines include Ryzen 9 3900X, Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 9 7950X, and dual Xeon E5 configurations with larger memory allocations, DDR5 on newer platforms, substantial SSD or NVMe capacity, and network options reaching 10 Gbps. Dedicated-server connectivity and hardware are closely integrated with the ColoCrossing infrastructure.

Traditional Shared Hosting is available for customers who do not need server administration. The Beginner package starts at $3.95/month with 20 GB storage, unlimited transfer, one database, and one domain. Standard increases storage to 100 GB and supports unlimited databases and domains, while Advanced provides a larger resource allocation and unlimited-style hosting limits subject to normal acceptable-use restrictions. Free migration, setup, SSL functionality, backups, and a dedicated IP are included with parts of the range. Shared hosting is based on CloudLinux and cPanel and uses RAID-based storage, daily backups, firewall protection, and DDoS mitigation.

ChicagoVPS also has a newer WordPress Hosting range built around cPanel. Entry pricing starts at approximately $2.95/month with 10 GB storage and one domain. Mid-range packages increase storage to 50 GB and support up to 20 domains, while the largest package offers around 100 GB and unlimited-domain capability. WordPress can be preinstalled, and free migration makes these accounts easier to use for customers moving an existing site. This range is a more straightforward choice than the older application-specific plans for anyone primarily interested in running WordPress.

Older Joomla, Magento, and Drupal hosting options are still associated with the service catalog. These work more like application-oriented hosting entry points than fully managed specialist platforms. Customers running larger Magento installations or resource-intensive Joomla and Drupal projects will usually be better served by Cloud VPS, KVM, Cloud Metal, or dedicated resources.

Reseller Hosting uses WHM and cPanel. Beginner provides approximately 20 GB storage for $10.95/month, Standard offers 50 GB for $20.95/month, and Advanced provides 100 GB for $29.95/month. Unlimited bandwidth and hosted-domain allowances are included across the range, and the Advanced plan includes WHMCS for customer and billing management. These reseller packages are currently unavailable for new ordering, so availability needs to be confirmed before planning a reseller migration.

Domain registration and transfers are handled through the customer account system. Common extensions such as .com, .net, and .org cost around $20 for one year, while specialty extensions vary considerably. Hosting and domain purchases are billed primarily in USD.

The catalog still mixes newer services with several legacy product families. Current Cloud VPS, WordPress, Cloud Metal, and dedicated-server options sit alongside older OpenVZ, application-hosting, and Windows information.
