*📜 Plan description
Regular Cloud Hosting is an active Cloud Hosting tier priced at R589 per month. It includes 300 GB of SAN-backed storage, 300 GB of monthly traffic, 6 GB RAM, 3 vCPU and 1 IPv4 address.
Axxess Cloud Hosting is a self-managed CentOS Linux server product using SAN storage. cPanel can be added for R190 per month. All tiers have no setup fee, and data used beyond the included traffic allowance is charged at R0.97 per GB. The order flow prorates the initial signup-month amount, while the listed amount is the normal recurring monthly price. The cloud terms require the Hyper-V guest tools supplied with new cloud servers to remain active, prohibit nested virtual machines and allow resource controls such as IOPS limits when a virtual machine negatively affects the shared environment. Cloud servers can be moved between virtual environments and Internet backbones when operationally necessary. Cloud servers may be relocated within South Africa and internationally.

📄 Editorial Review
Axxess is one of South Africa's longer-established Internet and web hosting companies, with roots going back to 1997. Franco Barbalich founded the business from a one-bedroom flat under the original Axxess Africa name, initially concentrating on website hosting and website design. Internet access and analog dial-up followed, supported at one stage by four Internet cafés, before the company expanded into hardware, broadband connectivity and a much wider range of Internet services. The business developed well beyond its hosting origins. More than 600 Wi-Fi hotspots had been deployed around South Africa by 2008, the same year Axxess received its first ISP of the Year award. Andrew Simpson joined as a director in 2009, and the company moved into its Port Elizabeth offices in 2013. Those premises now accommodate more than 200 employees, while LinkedIn places the broader organization in the 201–500 employee range.
A major corporate change occurred in 2011, when Afrihost acquired a controlling interest in Axxess. The transaction was completed in August 2011 and the companies continued as separate brands. This arrangement remains relevant today: Afrihost holds a majority stake, while Axxess continues operating as a stand-alone business with its own management, employees and customer-facing brand.
The operating company is Axxess DSL (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2006/032552/07. Its head office is at 185 Cape Road, Mill Park, Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa. The company still has a particularly strong South African focus, and its customer-facing site is in English with billing primarily in South African rand (ZAR).
Hosting now sits within a much broader connectivity business. The current service range includes Linux Shared Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Email Hosting, VPS Hosting, Managed VPS, Cloud Hosting, Domain Registration, domain parking and DNS management. Outside hosting, Axxess supplies monthly and prepaid fibre, MTN, Vodacom and Telkom 5G/LTE products, mobile data, VoIP, routers, backup-power hardware and other networking equipment. New DSL line and data services have been discontinued, although legacy DSL customers continue to be supported.
The current Linux Shared Hosting range runs from XS through XXXL and uses SSD storage. XS starts with 2 GB of storage, 75 mailboxes, five MySQL databases and one subdomain, while the largest XXXL package provides 75 GB, 15 subdomains and unlimited mailboxes and MySQL databases. Traffic is unlimited across the range. Add-on domains are not supported, which makes these plans better suited to a single primary domain with subdomains than to customers trying to consolidate many unrelated websites inside one shared account.
Shared hosting includes SitePad, Softaculous, FTP, CGI, PHP, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, cron jobs, DNS management, file management and backups. Softaculous provides one-click installation for WordPress and hundreds of other applications. Security features include AutoSSL, malware detection, ModSecurity, CageFS and symlink protection, together with firewall protection and anti-spam filtering. Axxess also lists 24/7 platform monitoring, UPS power and generator protection for the hosting environment.
Customers ordering Linux hosting can select DirectAdmin, cPanel or, in some checkout combinations, InterWorx. DirectAdmin is available without the cPanel surcharge, while cPanel normally adds R15 per month. Axxess specifically associates its cPanel option with additional security components including Imunify360, KernelCare and CloudLinux.
The WordPress Hosting platform is a separate optimized range running from S through XXL. It combines SSD storage with LiteSpeed Web Server and LSCache, cPanel, Softaculous, MariaDB, HTTP/2, AutoSSL and Imunify360. Storage starts at 5 GB and reaches 75 GB, while monthly traffic remains unlimited. Higher packages also scale the number of subdomains, mailboxes and SQL databases substantially. This is the more appropriate choice for customers wanting an Axxess-managed shared environment specifically optimized for WordPress rather than a generic Linux account.
Axxess still bundles email capabilities into its normal web-hosting products, but Email Only Hosting is useful when the website is hosted somewhere else. The three base tiers provide 500 MB, 1 GB or 2 GB of storage with 10, 50 or 100 mailboxes respectively. POP3, IMAP, forwarding, aliases, autoresponders, MX control, SPF records, webmail, AutoSSL and anti-spam protection are included. DirectAdmin and InterWorx variants remain inexpensive, while the cPanel version costs R15 more per month.
The current VPS Hosting platform is substantially more capable than a basic low-cost virtual server. Axxess uses SuperMicro hardware and Samsung Enterprise SSDs, provides IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity and includes one free monthly backup. The range consists of Standard, Standard Plus, Pro, Pro Plus, Mega, Mega Plus, Ultra and Ultra Plus tiers. Current configurations start at 1 CPU core, 1 GB RAM and 50 GB SSD on Standard and scale to 16 CPU cores, 32 GB RAM and 1.5 TB SSD on Ultra Plus.
VPS traffic is referred to as unlimited, but it operates under a Fair Usage Policy. Standard and Standard Plus have 1 TB of acceptable monthly usage, Pro and Pro Plus 2 TB, Mega and Mega Plus 5 TB, and Ultra and Ultra Plus 10 TB. The VPS product carries an explicit 99.9% uptime guarantee.
Customers can customize VPS installations with AlmaLinux, CentOS, Debian, Fedora, Rocky Linux, SUSE or Ubuntu. Optional server software includes cPanel, InterWorx, Webuzo, DirectAdmin, Softaculous, SitePad, KernelCare, Imunify360, Imunify AV+, LiteSpeed, JetBackup and several CloudLinux editions. This makes the product suitable for anything from a small Linux server to a multi-account hosting environment.
There is one small inconsistency worth understanding before selecting a VPS. A current support guide assigns the Pro package 1 TB of traffic, while the current contractual VPS Fair Usage Policy assigns Pro 2 TB. The formal Fair Usage Policy is the safer figure to use when evaluating monthly bandwidth entitlement.
The Managed VPS range adds operating-system maintenance, root-level server security, firewall management and 24/7 server monitoring. Weekly server snapshots retain two copies, while daily account-level backups retain five days. Application monitoring is specifically outside the managed service, as are customer website-code problems, local email-client configuration and unsupported third-party software. This distinction is useful: the service is genuinely managed at the server and operating-system level, but it is not a substitute for a web developer or application administrator.
An additional Cloud Hosting range remains orderable even though it is much less prominent than VPS in the main hosting navigation. Mini, Regular, Big and Mega packages range from 100 GB to 4 TB of storage, 2 GB to 24 GB RAM and one to ten vCPUs. The service uses CentOS Linux and SAN storage, has no setup fee, and allows cPanel to be added for R190 per month. Traffic allocations range from 50 GB to 2 TB, with additional traffic charged by the gigabyte.
Domain Registration covers South African and international extensions. Domains can be newly registered, transferred to Axxess, parked or pointed to third-party name servers. Axxess acts as a registrar for the South African .co.za, .net.za, .org.za and .web.za namespaces and uses approved registrars such as OpenSRS for generic extensions. Selected hosting packages can include promotional registration of extensions such as .co.za, .online, .store and .site.
