You can access a site securely by changing the URL from http:// to https:// and your visitors will see a padlock icon displayed in their web browsers.
If you are transmitting sensitive information on a web site, such as credit card numbers or personal information, you need to secure it with SSL encryption. It’s possible for every piece of data to be seen by others, unless it is secured by an SSL certificate.
To install a certificate for your website — your site must have it’s own Dedicated IP address. (only your site is hosted on this IP)
Dedicated IP — it’s a paid service provided by all website hosting providers.
Once you get a dedicated IP — you will need to buy an SSL certificate and install it on the server.
If your website is hosted by Avahost then our support staff will install the certificate for free.
