Atlantic.Net is a long-established American cloud, dedicated-server and data-center infrastructure provider founded in 1994 in Gainesville, Florida, by University of Florida students Manoj "Marty" Puranik and Jose Sanchez. The business began as Internet Connect Company Computers, initially offering dial-up Internet access and web hosting. Within its first year it had already grown to eight employees and approximately 2,000 customers in the Gainesville area.

Expansion accelerated during the late 1990s through acquisitions of First Coast Internet and Worldwide Internet in 1997, followed by a total of 13 Internet service provider acquisitions across underserved and secondary markets. Atlantic.Net opened its first Orlando data center in 2003 and continued moving toward dedicated servers, colocation and managed infrastructure. Cloud and virtualization services followed in 2010. Manoj Puranik remains Founder, President and CEO, providing notable continuity after more than three decades in the hosting and Internet infrastructure business.

Atlantic.Net today is primarily a cloud and infrastructure provider rather than a conventional shared-hosting company. Its portfolio includes Cloud VPS / Public Cloud, Dedicated Servers, Bare Metal Servers, Dedicated Cloud Hosts, Managed Private Cloud, Virtual Private Cloud, Cloud Metal, GPU Cloud, Dedicated GPU Hosting, Inference Cloud, Colocation, Secure Block Storage, Backups and Replication, Disaster Recovery, High-Availability Clusters and Managed Services. Cloud VPS instances include SSD-based storage, private networking, DNS management, snapshots, optional backups, Secure Block Storage, IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity and API access. Deployment is designed for rapid provisioning, allowing new virtual machines to become available within seconds. Customers can use the infrastructure as unmanaged VPS hosting with full system control or add monitoring, backup management, firewall administration, migration support and more complete managed services.

Dedicated Servers cover Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC hardware with SSD or NVMe storage, hardware RAID, full root or administrator access and substantial monthly transfer allocations. Custom configurations are available for customers requiring particular processors, memory, disk layouts, network connectivity or operating systems.

Bare Metal Servers provide single-tenant physical infrastructure with longer-term pricing options. Dedicated Cloud Hosts and Managed Private Cloud extend this model with virtualization, private capacity and a cloud-style management environment suitable for organizations that want dedicated resources without giving up centralized infrastructure management.

AI and GPU infrastructure have become an important part of the service range. GPU Cloud and Dedicated GPU Hosting support NVIDIA H100 NVL and L40S accelerators for artificial intelligence, machine learning, inference, scientific computing, simulation and rendering. GPU Cloud environments can use shared or dedicated GPU resources, support configurations with multiple GPUs and offer hourly, monthly and reserved billing.

Atlantic.Net also operates an Inference Cloud for AI application deployment. During 2026, additional one-click environments were introduced for platforms including OpenClaw and Hermes Agent, expanding the company's position in AI application hosting beyond conventional GPU rental.

Security and regulatory compliance remain some of Atlantic.Net's strongest areas. Specialized infrastructure is available for HIPAA/HITECH Hosting, HIPAA WordPress, HIPAA GPU Hosting, PCI DSS 4.0 environments, e-commerce, pharmaceutical and biotechnology workloads. HIPAA environments can include a Business Associate Agreement, while managed security options cover firewalls, intrusion prevention, multi-factor authentication, endpoint security, DDoS and web application protection, vulnerability scanning, patching and backup administration.

The Fortress portfolio, introduced in 2026, combines cloud or dedicated infrastructure with a broader managed security stack. It is especially suitable for healthcare, financial, e-commerce and enterprise workloads where security controls, regulatory compliance and continuous infrastructure management are important requirements.

Storage services are centered on Secure Block Storage. The newer SBS v2 platform uses NVMe-backed storage, encryption at rest, multiple copies of customer data and an isolated storage network. Availability expanded to the Dallas cloud region in September 2026 following its Orlando deployment. Secure Block Storage can be expanded separately from the customer's virtual machine, making it practical for databases, application data and workloads that need storage growth without changing the Cloud Server configuration.

Traditional low-cost shared hosting is no longer a central part of the portfolio. Atlantic.Net is much better suited to customers looking for VPS, cloud, dedicated hardware, managed infrastructure, compliance hosting or AI computing than to beginners looking for a bundled domain, website builder and basic shared-hosting account.

Services are priced primarily in US dollars (USD), and the main service environment is aimed primarily at English-speaking business and technical customers.
