Always Amber is an Irish domain registrar, shared hosting provider, and business email specialist serving individuals, small companies, and organizations that prefer locally supported online services. The business has operated since 1999, while Always Amber Limited was formally incorporated in Ireland on March 8, 2013. Its headquarters are in Lispole, County Kerry, and it operates as an authorized registrar for .IE domain names.

Domain registration remains one of its strongest services. Customers can register or transfer .ie, .com, .eu, .uk, .co.uk, .irish, .org, .net, and hundreds of other country-code and generic extensions. The full portfolio includes more than 400 TLD choices covering business, technology, retail, entertainment, property, and professional markets.

Domain registrations include web forwarding, email forwarding, and DNS management. Customers can change nameservers and manage records such as A, MX, and CNAME entries through the account interface. Domains are registered in the customer’s name and can be transferred to another provider when the account and related services have been paid in full.

The .IE specialization is especially useful for Irish businesses. Always Amber handles new registrations, transfers, and bulk operations, with bulk search facilities supporting up to 15 domains at once. A deleted .IE domain list is also maintained for customers searching for names that have returned to availability. Trademark and legal clearance remain the customer’s responsibility.

The hosting portfolio concentrates on cloud shared hosting, WordPress hosting, and eCommerce hosting. VPS, dedicated server, and colocation services are not part of the product range. The eCommerce package receives additional server resources, but it remains a managed shared hosting service rather than a complete physical server.

The principal Bronze Hosting package includes 10 GB of storage, 100 GB of data transfer, 50 email accounts, support for five hosted domains, one-click application installation, daily offsite backups, and SSL certificates. Annual subscriptions also include a .IE or .COM domain.

The dedicated WordPress Hosting package includes SSD storage, optimized caching, one-click WordPress installation, email accounts, SSL, and daily offsite backups. It is suitable for a single WordPress website or a small business installation rather than a large portfolio of resource-heavy websites.

The higher eCommerce Hosting package provides 15 GB of storage, 150 GB of data transfer, 100 email accounts, five hosted domains, automated backups, SSL, and additional server resources. The allocation is appropriate for a modest online shop, although high-traffic stores and large product catalogs should confirm CPU, memory, database, and concurrent-process limits before ordering.

Additional hosting options include a basic Starter package with a small SiteBuilder allocation, a First Steps shared plan, Small Business hosting, and a Business WP package. Some of these plans overlap with the primary hosting packages, and the Business WP option does not include a complete public resource specification. The range would be easier to compare if similarly named packages were consolidated.

All shared hosting plans use SSD storage and include cPanel, domain-validated SSL, daily offsite backups, malware monitoring, email filtering, and one-click software installation. Customers can also host a domain registered with another company by changing its nameservers or DNS records.

Shared accounts are subject to standard resource restrictions. An account cannot use more than 25% of the available system resources for longer than 120 seconds. IRC software, BitTorrent applications, peer-to-peer services, gaming servers, web spiders, and indexers are prohibited. Cron jobs cannot run more frequently than once every five minutes. These limits are reasonable for conventional business websites but unsuitable for resource-intensive applications, crawlers, persistent background jobs, or large automation workloads.

Always Amber also offers two forms of hosted email. The standard cPanel Email service provides mailboxes under the customer’s domain, webmail, IMAP and SMTP access, SSL, spam and virus filtering, aliases, forwarding, autoresponders, and daily offsite backups. It can be purchased independently without a web hosting package.

The more advanced OX App Suite service adds shared calendars, contacts, tasks, CardDAV, CalDAV, migration tools, and a modern browser interface. The Productivity edition includes cloud storage and browser-based applications for creating and editing text documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. OX App Suite supports English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.

Specialized email protection is available through incoming filtering, outgoing filtering, and email archiving. Incoming messages pass through a cloud filtering network before reaching the customer’s mail server. Quarantine searches and reports are available through SpamPanel, while queued messages remain accessible if the destination server is temporarily unavailable.

Outgoing filtering helps identify compromised accounts and reduces the risk of a mail server being added to a blacklist. Email archiving includes 10 GB of compressed storage by default and can be expanded with additional licenses.

The SiteBuilder service uses a drag-and-drop system based on SiteJet. It produces responsive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript websites and includes a blog, more than 40 content widgets, and hosting under the customer’s domain. The available plans support 10, 25, or 50 pages.

The builder does not include complete online store functionality, even though one package is labeled for "Businesses + Stores." The listed template count is also inconsistent, with references to both more than 400 designs and 140 themes. Customers requiring a full eCommerce system should use a separate content management platform or shopping cart rather than depending entirely on SiteBuilder.

WordPress assistance is available separately from hosting. Routine maintenance, migrations, redirects, HTTPS configuration, database optimization, image optimization, performance testing, debugging, and CDN setup are billed by the hour. A one-time malware repair service includes malware identification and removal, WordPress updates, security hardening, and seven days of follow-up assistance. These services can also be used for WordPress websites hosted with another provider.

The product range is completed by SSL certificates, website security, DNS services, and domain recovery. SSL options include domain-validated certificates, wildcard certificates, multi-domain products, organization validation, extended validation, S/MIME email certificates, and UCC certificates. Free domain-validated SSL is already included with the shared hosting packages.

The website is available in English, and prices are displayed in euros. The layout works on modern desktop and mobile screens, although duplicated hosting entries, inconsistent SiteBuilder figures, and legal policy dates from 2018 make parts of the catalog appear less carefully maintained than the underlying service range.
