*📜 Plan description
5GN Colocation places customer-owned infrastructure inside secure 5G Networks data centres with access to redundant power, cooling, network connectivity and carrier interconnection. The service supports dedicated racks and secure cages, public and private connectivity, cross-connects to major carriers and cloud providers, optional remote-hands assistance, managed monitoring and alerting, smart hardware replacement and integration with 5GN Cloud. Facilities use biometric access controls, segregated rack access, 24/7 surveillance and monitoring, with ISO/IEC 27001 accreditation and infrastructure designed for high availability. Customers can scale their footprint while avoiding the cost of building and operating their own data-centre environment. The Australian footprint includes Sydney, North Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Service-level guarantees apply to colocation services, while commercial pricing depends on rack or cage space, power allocation, connectivity and support requirements.
Dedicated rack options include a standard 42RU configuration with 600w-1200d dimensions, while bespoke rack sizes and configurations such as 45RU with 750w-1200d dimensions can also be supplied. Standard racks use A+B 32-amp single-phase power with capacity ranging from 1 to 6 kW per rack, while three-phase power is available for higher-density requirements. Rack hosting provides organised equipment placement, controlled airflow, simplified maintenance and expansion capacity inside professionally managed facilities. Customers requiring stronger physical separation can choose dedicated security cages around their rack environment.
Data Centre Cages provide a dedicated and physically restricted colocation area where access can be limited to authorised personnel. Cage configurations are customisable around equipment, rack count and future growth requirements and operate within the same redundant power, cooling, biometric security and surveillance environment. Standard or bespoke racks can be deployed inside the cage, including 42RU racks and custom rack dimensions, with A+B power feeds and higher-density three-phase power available when required. The cage footprint can expand as infrastructure requirements change.
5G Networks owns and operates major Australian facilities and also connects to a broader partner data-centre network. Colocation, rack and cage services can be combined with carrier connectivity, cloud connectivity, cross-connects, remote hands, managed monitoring, hardware assistance and other 5GN Cloud and network services. Australian-based support is available 24/7 through phone, email and the support ticket system.

📄 Editorial Review
5G Networks is an Australian telecommunications, cloud, network and data-centre operator headquartered in Melbourne. The company was established in 2017, with founder and Managing Director Joe Demase leading the business through its expansion into carrier networking, cloud infrastructure, colocation and managed technology services. The listed parent is 5G Networks Limited (ASX: 5GN), while 5G Network Operations Pty Ltd operates parts of the service portfolio.5G Networks is considerably more infrastructure-focused than a conventional shared web-hosting provider. Its current portfolio covers data centres, colocation, VPS, Bare Metal servers, public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, backup, disaster recovery, fibre connectivity, IP Transit, Wavelength services, CloudPort and managed IT services.
The former Webcentral and Melbourne IT consumer hosting operation, which included domain registration, cPanel hosting and email services, was sold in December 2023. As a result, the present 5GN business is primarily aimed at companies, infrastructure users, wholesale partners and organizations requiring Australian cloud, network and data-centre services.
The self-service compute platform operates under 5GN Cloud. VPS instances use SSD storage, 1Gbps connectivity and included monthly traffic allowances. Bare Metal provides dedicated physical servers without a virtualization layer, suitable for customers wanting predictable hardware performance and full operating-system control.
VPS infrastructure is available in several locations, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Singapore and Tokyo, depending on service availability. VPS deployment can normally be completed within seconds, while many Bare Metal configurations can also be provisioned automatically within a short period.
The broader cloud portfolio includes Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Backup Services and Disaster Recovery. Public cloud infrastructure is available from Australian locations including Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Private and hybrid configurations are suited to businesses requiring dedicated resources, regulatory controls, Australian data residency or integration between private infrastructure and public cloud platforms.
Direct cloud connectivity can extend toward AWS, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud and Google Cloud, making the network suitable for hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.
Network products are another important part of 5GN. CloudPort provides Layer 2 connectivity between data centres, cloud environments and network services, while Data Centre Connect supports private Ethernet connections ranging from 100Mbps to 10Gbps. Premium Fibre, Dark Fibre, Wavelength and IP Transit services extend the portfolio considerably beyond typical hosting.
Wavelength services can support high-capacity point-to-point optical transport, including connections from approximately 1.25Gbps through 50Gbps, with optional AES-256 encryption. IP Transit supports IPv4 and IPv6, BGP routing, redundant connectivity and capacities ranging from smaller enterprise links through multi-gigabit deployments.
Managed IT and cyber-security capabilities have also become more important. 5GN increased its investment in AUCyber (aucyber.com.au) during 2025, reaching an ownership position of approximately 89.6% at June 30, 2025. This strengthens its sovereign cloud, security and managed-services capabilities.
The company has grown through several acquisitions. APTel was acquired in 2018, followed by the Hostworks and Anittel businesses obtained through the acquisition of Inabox's direct business. A Melbourne data-centre acquisition followed in 2019, while ColoAU assets were acquired in 2020, expanding the national network and adding international 100Gb WDM connectivity. Intergrid was acquired in 2021, adding further Bare Metal and cloud infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand.
These acquisitions explain the current structure of 5GN particularly well: rather than operating only as a hosting company, it combines computing infrastructure, physical data-centre capacity, telecommunications and managed services under one Australian technology group.
The main websites operate in English, while public 5GN Cloud compute pricing is shown in Australian dollars (AUD).
