📄 Editorial Review

1GB.ua is a long-running Ukrainian hosting provider operated by HOSTLAB LLC (ТОВ "ХОСТЛАБ"), EDRPOU 38498045. The hosting business has operated since 2005 and serves both private and corporate customers, with infrastructure and services designed for websites, business applications, virtual servers, email, domains, and more specialized hosting workloads.

The portfolio is broader than that of a typical shared-hosting provider and includes Linux and Windows shared hosting, Hyper-V VDS/VPS, OpenVZ VPS, VIP hosting, VIP VDS, dedicated servers, domain registration, reseller hosting, corporate email, SSL, DNS, cloud storage, and website-building tools. A free hosting option is also available for lightweight static projects.

Shared hosting supports both Microsoft and Linux technologies. Apache-based hosting is suitable for PHP applications, while IIS-based hosting supports ASP and ASP.NET workloads. PHP versions from older legacy releases through PHP 8 are available, together with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server databases. More advanced users can also work with SSH, SCP, WebDAV, SVN, Ruby, Tomcat, Python/Django, and other development environments.

Email functionality is integrated with the hosting service and includes POP3, SMTP, IMAP, webmail, spam filtering, antivirus protection, mailing lists, and autoresponders. WebDAV storage, SeaFile cloud storage, and Jabber services can be added where needed.

Hyper-V VDS/VPS provides stronger virtualization isolation and is available for both Windows and Linux. Customers can choose from Windows Server as well as Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, OpenSUSE, FreeBSD, and other templates. Hyper-V instances support configurable processor, memory, disk, IP, and backup resources, while Windows licensing is included where applicable.

The OpenVZ VPS range is aimed at customers who need lower-cost Linux virtual servers. Plans extend from lightweight entry configurations to significantly larger virtual machines and provide root access together with supplementary services such as email, databases, and DNS. OpenVZ remains a practical option when price is more important than the stronger isolation available from Hyper-V, although this product family is not covered by the standard hosting SLA.

VIP hosting places substantially fewer customers on each server and uses local SSD storage and higher-frequency processors. VIP VDS adds stronger dedicated-resource characteristics, mandatory backups, and reduced virtual-machine density. VIP VDS requires at least 3 GB RAM and 30 GB of VIP SSD storage and is available in Kyiv.

Dedicated infrastructure is also available in Germany. The larger server platform uses enterprise blade systems that can be rented as individual capacity slots or as complete physical servers. Configurations can include large RAM allocations, RAID10-backed network storage, SSD caching, snapshots, iSCSI storage, and remote IPMI/KVM administration.

Domain registration is another important part of the business. 1GB.ua supports Ukrainian national and regional domain zones together with common international extensions including .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, and .INFO. DNS hosting is included, and free SSL certificates can be used with hosted domains. Certain Ukrainian domains can also be included with qualifying hosting plans.

The reseller and Business hosting range is suitable for agencies, developers, and customers managing larger numbers of independent websites. Resources can be distributed among multiple projects, while the partner system supports customer referrals and account-based cooperation.

A free hosting service remains available with 1 GB of disk space, three mailboxes, and selected free domain options. It is intended for simple websites without server-side scripting and can later be upgraded to a paid hosting service.

A 10-day test period is available for principal hosting and VDS services. This gives customers the opportunity to check application compatibility before payment. Refunds of unused account funds are possible through the formal service-cancellation process, although this is not structured as a simple unconditional money-back guarantee.

The website has a noticeably old-style interface and includes a substantial amount of legacy technical information alongside current services. Its layout is less modern than current hosting dashboards and can feel optimized for older desktop-oriented browsing. The service is localized in Ukrainian and Russian, while a complete English version does not exist. Commercial prices are primarily listed in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH).
