1530 Swift represents one of the most significant data center developments in the Midwest, located in North Kansas City, Missouri. Operated by NOCIX, the facility builds on a long history that began in 2009 when the company, then known as DataShack, expanded beyond downtown Kansas City. Over the years, demand for modern colocation and network-rich environments pushed the company to develop a new large-scale site.

The result is a purpose-built campus at 1530 Swift, situated next to the original 16th Avenue facility. When construction is fully complete, the combined campus will provide roughly 175,000 sq. ft. of data center space and 10,000 sq. ft. of office space, with ambitions to reach Tier III certification and eventually become one of only a handful of Tier IV certified facilities in the United States. Already, it has established the largest peering ecosystem in North America.

The facility is designed with redundant and diverse power delivery, ensuring resilience for mission-critical workloads. Features include:

Network Ecosystem

What distinguishes 1530 Swift is its network density and connectivity options. The campus provides direct access to multiple Internet Exchanges, including KCIX, STLIX, HOUIX, SIOUIX, SpringIX, DesMoinesIX, EVIX, OPTIX, DE-CIX Dallas, and SIX. Five diverse fiber entry points and a hardened underground vault support extensive redundancy.
Tenants can also connect to a variety of carriers, such as Zayo, AT\&T, Hurricane Electric, Verizon, Cogent, UPN, and Consolidated, alongside the locally operated KC Fiber network. Dedicated dark fiber and wave services extend to major hubs at 1102 Grand, 1100 Walnut, and 101 Holmes.

Physical security is a core focus. The facility deploys 24/7/365 monitored 4K UHD surveillance cameras, with every data hall visible from multiple angles. Biometric, touchless two-factor authentication controls access throughout. Police response times average under two minutes, and secure loading zones can accommodate large freight deliveries indoors.

Cooling & Environment

To maintain stable operations, the data center incorporates:
