The company has been an ICANN-accredited registrar since 2007 and operates through 101domain GRS Limited in Ireland, alongside a U.S. presence in Vista, California. The business later became part of Afilias following a 2015 acquisition, and Afilias subsequently became part of Identity Digital.

International domain registration remains the company's strongest area. 101domain supports more than 1,800 domain extensions covering over 200 countries and territories, including generic TLDs, country-code domains, newer extensions and Internationalized Domain Names.
