Oct, 2003 : New.net Promotes Company President to CEO

📅 October 23, 2003 - California-based domain name registry New.net (new.net) announced today the promotion of Daniel Sheehy to the position of chief executive officer.

Sheehy joined New.net in 2001 as vice president of business development and most recently served as president. The company said Sheey will continue to guide the strategic direction of the company, overseeing partnership negotiation and product development.
"Dan has played an instrumental role in building New.net's domain registry business, helping to forge partnerships with top-tier ISPs and ICANN- accredited registrars that have been critical to the company's success," said Bill Gross, chairman of the board at New.net and CEO of Idealab. "As the company continues to expand and grow, we will rely on Dan's expertise to help increase profitability and user-adoption."
Prior to joining New.net, Sheehy held business development and leadership roles at DrDrew.com and Disney Internet Group.
The company recently launched a fundraiser program to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
