📅 September 11, 2003 - Domain name registrar New.net (new.net) has developed a fundraiser program to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

New.net said yesterday in a release that it would donate $2.00 to the Los Angeles chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every New.net domain name sold between September 10 and November 30.
"We never imagined when we launched a few years ago that we'd be in the position to make such a difference in children's lives and help a non-profit accomplish such wonderful work," said Dan Sheehy, CEO of New.net.
New.net, a registrar of unique domain extensions that include the .travel domain, said the foundation's need to provide travel for eight-year old Lacey Minot's wish to travel to Boston was an important reason behind the launch of the fundraiser.
"Additionally, we're thrilled to leverage our efforts within the travel community to help raise awareness for such an important cause - Make-A-Wish's urgent need for frequent flyer miles," said Sheehy.
