Dec, 2003 : Hurricane Electric Donates Hosting to GCWI

📅 - Technical services provider Hurricane Electric (he.com) announced on Tuesday that it is providing free Web hosting to Golden Care Workforce Institute (GCWI), a San Diego-based non-profit organization that delivers home care services to the elderly and disabled, and provides employment opportunities to graduates of its health care academy.

Hurricane Electric said the GCWI Web site it is hosting allows the organization to reach people in need of care, inform prospective students about the training program, and facilitate fundraising efforts.
"Having an Internet presence is essential for our agency," said Scott Green, executive director of Golden Care Workforce Institute. "We were referred to Hurricane Electric because of its great reputation and competitive prices. The money we are saving by receiving donated Web hosting can now be spent providing homecare services to San Diego's elderly and disabled community."
Hurricane Electric said it donates Web hosting to hundreds of other non-profit organizations
"We know how vital it is to have a Web site where volunteers, community members and people in need can find information," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric. "We want to make sure socially beneficial organizations have a Web presence regardless of budgetary restrictions. As a socially responsible business in the community, we make a difference by helping non-profits create a presence on the Internet."
