Dec, 2003 : EMC Acquires Documentum for $1.48 Billion
📅 - Data storage company EMC Corporation (emc.com) said today that it has completed its acquisition of enterprise content management software developer Documentum in an deal worth $1.48 billion deal, according to Reuters.
The company said the acquisition is designed to expand its software business. EMC is based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The company said it will operate Documentum as a division with headquarters in Pleasanton, California. EMC said it expected the acquisition to add $30 million to $35 million in revenue to its fourth-quarter results. The company said it also had plans to buy virtualization software provider VMWare for $635 million. In October, EMC completed its acquisition of Legato Systems for $1.3 billion.
