Jan, 2004 : Three Colorado Hosting Companies Merge Into One

📅 January 13, 2004 - Data393 (data393.com -> hostinger.com), Huge Hosting (hugehosting.com) and Ventures Online (venturesonline.com), three Web hosting companies based in Colorado, jointly announced a three-way merger on Tuesday.

The merger brings more than 10,000 shared, dedicated and colocation customers to Data393's 6,200 square-foot data center facility at 393 Inverness Parkway in Englewood, Colorado. Lee Woodward, founding CEO of Data393, will serve as chief executive for the newly established company.
"Both Huge Hosting and Ventures Online were considering moving their hosting operations to Data393's facilities," said Alex Burney, president of Huge Hosting. "But then we saw a unique opportunity to create a comprehensive, technically superior services provider that gives customers the stability and personal focus of a locally owned company. All three companies have already established their ability to compete with and outperform the industry giants out there. As a single company we're giving Colorado a new telecommunications company it can be proud of."
The companies said a formal announcement regarding the new entity's name will be made some time in the next few weeks.
"Data393's facilitates are as good as any Web hosting business and its customers could want or need," said John Burns, CEO of Ventures Online. "We get excellent fiber connections from eight Tier-1 Internet service providers, enabling us to deliver our customers' Web content at maximum speed. This new company is in a tremendous position to host even the most complex, data-rich Web sites with complete reliability, security and responsiveness."
The acquisition comes on the heels of Data393's offer to acquire Ventures Online in early December.
Data393 provides colocation and managed service offerings. Ventures Online's suite of hosting services includes shared and dedicated hosting, domain services and data warehousing in addition to a significant market presence in reselling. Huge Hosting sells shared hosting and dedicated servers.
