Feb 19, 2004 : Digital River to Host Trend Micro Sites

📅 February 19, 2004 - E-commerce outsourcing provider Digital River (digitalriver.com) has signed an extension to its e-commerce agreement with Trend Micro (trendmicro.com), an Internet content security software and service provider, the company announced yesterday.

Under the terms of the agreement, Digital River will launch localized e-commerce sites for Trend Micro in order to support the expansion of its online sales operations in the Asia-Pacific and European markets. The company said that it will continue to host and manage Trend Micro's domestic and international e-commerce sites, which include online stores in the United States, United Kingdom, Latin America, France, Italy and Spain. Digital River will also continue merchandising and delivering Trend Micro's software titles into its e-commerce channel of more than 600 online retailers.
"We look forward to helping our clients address important cultural and localization requirements as they intensify their global online marketing and sales efforts across multiple e-commerce channels," says Joel Ronning, CEO of Digital River. "International e-commerce markets continue to offer increased growth opportunities for our clients and our company, and we believe we are well-positioned to help our clients take advantage of them. Our international e-commerce suite offers companies comprehensive support for the online purchasing process, from site development, e-marketing and localized customer service, to transaction processing, order fulfillment, fraud prevention and value-added tax (VAT) management."
The two companies recently launched an e-commerce site for Australia.

📅 Feb 20, 2004 - XO Acquisition of Allegiance Approved - Telecommunications carrier XO Communications (xo.com ) announced on Thursday that the US bankruptcy court for the southern district of New York has approved its proposed purchase of substantially all of the assets of Allegiance Telecom. Dallas-based Allegiance Telecom filed for bankruptcy in May 2003. XO will acquire Allegiance for $311 million in cash and 45.38 million shares of XO common stock.
