Mar 8, 2004 : HP to Unveil Slimmer Blade Servers
📅 - Hewlett-Packard (hp.com) is set to unveil a new line of blade servers on Monday, several reports say. The new servers, the BL30p, will be the smallest yet in HP's BL line of blade servers.
Blade servers are much smaller and "thinned-down" server systems that fit in a chassis that provides power and network connections shared by all the blades. The BL30p, set to ship in June, is powered by Intel Xeon processors and supports both Windows and Linux. As many as 16 systems are able to fit in a chassis 10.5 inches tall. HP has not yet provided pricing or specifications.
