Aug 2, 2007 : Peak 10 Hosts Virtualization Web Cast

📅 August 2, 2007 - Data center operator and managed services provider Peak 10 (peak10.com -> flexential.com) announced on Thursday it hosted the live July 26 Web cast "Virtualization for Business: Implementing an Effective Strategy for Primary and Secondary Sites." The Web cast examined what virtualization is and its many benefits, as well as the applications of the technology in primary and secondary sites on dedicated as well as shared platforms.
Presenters Monty Blight, vice president of managed services for Peak 10, and Bill Cashman, senior solutions engineer, provided detailed examples of real deployments in three separate business cases involving virtualization for consolidation, high availability and scalability. In one case, a fully virtualized production data center infrastructure was designed, implemented and maintained to consolidate eight physical servers onto two host servers. Another showed how virtualization was used to quickly scale a small active directory LAN to accommodate a new, wide-area client base. "The benefits of virtualization can be huge," says Cashman, who is co-chairman of the Jacksonville, Florida VMWare Users Group, an organization of IT professionals devoted to advancing VMWare's server virtualization technology. "We're well past the discovery phase of virtualization, to the point where so many companies are having success with it that we have a good handle on where the technology is a good fit and where it isn't." The Web cast was the second in a series on the popular topic of virtualization. Peak 10 announced last week it added fractional operator Avantair to its diverse and growing customer portfolio.

📅 Mar 24, 2009 - Web Host Peak 10 Houses dunnhumbyUSA - Data center operator and managed hosting provider Peak 10 (peak10.com -> flexential.com) announced on Tuesday it has signed an agreement where it will house retail reporting services provider dunnhumbyUSA within its Cincinnati facility.

The announcement comes off the heels of last week's opening of Peak 10's second data center in Tampa.

The 15,400 square foot data center brings the company's total Tampa data center space to more than 30,000 square feet.

According to the press release, DunnhumbyUSA "collects and stores customers' buying data to help retailers make competitive pricing decisions and enhance customer relationships and loyalty."
