May 4, 2004 : IBM Moves to Equinix IDC in Singapore

📅 May 4, 2004 - Equinix (equinix.com), a provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, announced on Tuesday that it has signed an $18 million, multi-year deal with IBM (ibm.com) that will see the technology giant operate out of its Internet Business Exchange (IBX) center in Singapore. The deal expands Equinix's three-year relationship with IBM, who to this point has only operated out of Equinix's US-based data centers.

Equinix said the agreement allows IBM to offer enterprises in Singapore local access to IBM solutions, such as hosting, disaster recovery, technology and outsourcing services.

Equinix's unique network-neutral model combined with world-class data center operations also allow us to continue to expand our service offerings in Singapore which is an important market for IBM."
Equinix operates 14 data center facilities in five countries around the world. The company recently expanded its Washington, DC footprint.
