Jun 2, 2004 : Host Europe Deploys Inkra Technology
📅 - Web hosting provider Host Europe GmBH (hosteurope.com) has deployed the first virtualized IP service platform in Germany, the company said on Tuesday. The platform, implemented by systems integrator Telindus (telindus.com), is based on Inkra Networks' (inkra.com) 1500 Series virtual service switches. Inkra's virtualization technology has allowed Host Europe to consolidate, consolidate and automate the delivery of its network and security managed services.
Host Europe said the virtualized services delivery architecture helps it achieve significant savings and reduces its operating costs by up to 90 percent. The platform also allows it to respond faster to customers, Host Europe said, provisioning services in a matter of hours. With the support of the platform, Host Europe has been able to add virtualized VPNs, firewalls, load balancers and intrusion detection and prevention systems to its portfolio of services.
"The virtual services architecture takes our business to a new level," said Eric Drissler, purchasing manager at Host Europe GmbH. "We can reduce costs at the same time as offering our customers a more responsive, flexible, and scalable service. It's a win-win situation and gives us a real competitive edge."
Inkra, which expanded its operations to the UK last month, recently added managed service providers Savvis and Comdepot to its roster of clients. Host Europe was recently acquired by Pipex Communications.
