Jun 10, 2004 : IT Confidence Up, Says Sage Research

📅 - Sage Research (sageresearch.com) announced the results of its May 2004 service provider confidence index on Wednesday, reporting that the expectations of IT service providers have been on a steady upward trend since being interrupted in March. According to Sage, the May expectations index rose 3.6 points to 77.2, from 73.6 in March. The other half of the index, the current conditions index, fell slightly in May, dropping from 55.2 in March to 53 in May.

"The continuation of the upward momentum in the expectations Index shows that the dip in March was an anomaly rather than a wider trend," says Chris Neal, research director at Sage Research. "The fact that both main indices, and 11 of the 12 sub-indices, remain in positive territory, speaks to the continued optimism in the industry."
The service provider confidence index, complied on a bi-monthly basis, analyzes the moods of telecommunications service providers. The index surveys service providers such as long distance carriers, Internet and network service providers, Web hosts, wireless operators and application service providers.
