Jun 18, 2004 : SpiderHost Signs Data Center Deal
📅 - Web hosting provider Spiderhost (spiderhost.com -> hostinger.com) announced on Friday that it has signed a two-year agreement for its own data center facility in Orlando, Florida. The company said the facility is to serve as the central hub of its network operations and help it efficiently support and manage its customers.
The 35,000 square-foot facility includes locking colocation cabinets, chain link cages and roof rights for antennae systems, as well as a state-of-the-art network operations center, a conference room and staff offices. Monitoring devices check the facility's critical systems and an air sampling system and dry-pipe pre-action system provide zoned fire detection and suppression. The facility is secure 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"Our new data center is one of the premier colocation facilities in central Florida, and certainly one of the most technology critical facilities in the Orlando market," says Dale Frohman, president of Spiderhost. "This facility will allow Spiderhost to complement its full range of comprehensive business-class services with superior technology and responsive customer service. We are now very strongly positioned to better serve the data, colocation and hosting needs of our central Florida customers."
The facility is carrier neutral, offering access to a variety of major service providers including Level 3 Communications, Time Warner Telecom, BellSouth, Sprint, WorldCom and Cable & Wireless.
"The addition of the new data center in Orlando strengthens our presence in a significant market for technology and e-business," says Frohman. "As is our focus with all of our business solutions, we will continue to do our best to better assist our customers with streamlining their hosting operations and eliminating the need to integrate multiple platforms and vendors, all in order to help provide them with an edge in a very competitive marketplace. "
