The company said operating independently will help it better serve its customer base and to develop technologies for the growing voice over IP, wireless, content and Web hosting industries.
Todd D. Benjamin, president and CEO of Rodopi, will lead the new company. "Rodopi will leverage its new business structure to promote advanced technologies that fit the emerging needs of IP-based service provider and enterprise markets," says Benjamin. "We look forward to continuing our development of innovative new products and sustainable partnerships and welcome the challenges of aggressively growing as an independent software vendor." Abacus America founded the Rodopi Software division in 1998. Benjamin was brought on in November of last year to help spearhead the spin off and position Rodopi as an independent corporate entity.
