Sep 15, 2004 : Peer 1 Locates at tel(x) Data Center
📅 - Canadian bandwidth and colocation provider Peer 1 Network (peer1.net -> peer1.com) said on Tuesday that it has selected tel(x)'s (telx.com) New York interconnection facility as the site for its second new network point of presence. The new network node is located in tel(x)'s facilities at 60 Hudson Street in New York City and is the company's second new node in the last month.
"Installing a POP in this location is in response to requests from both existing and new potential customers. Demand for our high performance IP network is at an all-time high," says Mark Teolis, chief technology officer for Peer 1 Network. "This expansion into tel(x) will allow Peer 1 to provide bandwidth and connectivity to the numerous companies in the tel(x) facilities who have requested our presence."
Late last month, Peer 1 Network opened a new point of presence at the One Wilshire building in Los Angeles, California. The company said it has plans to roll out POPs in London, Dallas and Asia.
"Peer 1 has been committed to extending the reach of its high performance IP network both in the United States and globally," says Geoff Hampson, president and CEO of Peer 1. "These recent network extensions are in response to customer demand and a key part of our business plan. The larger and more diverse our network footprint, the better Peer 1 is able to serve the needs of our performance sensitive customers. Not all bandwidth is equal and Peer 1 is committed to differentiating itself on the basis of performance and reliability."
