📅 - Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Avantex (avantex.org -> hostpapa.com) announced on Tuesday that it has reduced the pricing of its .com, .net and .org domain names to $5.99 a year.
"With this major price cut, Avantex is one of the lowest-cost domain name registration service providers in the industry," says George Baker, president and CEO of Avantex. Avantex offers Web hosting for both the Windows and Linux platforms. Domain name prices continue to drop across the industry, with hosts increasingly using extremely low domain pricing as a means of attracting possible hosting customers. 1&1 Internet is offering .com domains for $5.99 a year while EV1Servers and Hostway have priced their domain names at $6.49 and $6.95 a year respectively.
