Jun 9, 2006 : Avantex Replaces Linux Servers

📅 June 9, 2006 - Web hosting provider Avantex Hosting (avantex.org -> hostpapa.com) announced on Friday that it has replaced all its Linux servers with new ones. The Web host assured customers that the replacement will enable the company to provide the same reliable services to which they have been accustomed.

The new servers will deliver new features and benefits including the reliable Linux Fedora 2.0 operating system, IP Tables, Plesk graphical user interface 7.5 Reloaded, Plesk available in French, 1G of RAM, fast dual Xeon Intel processors, SCSI ultra fast hard drives, Dr. Web antivirus software, Spam Assassin and Tomcat application server on some plans.

Avantex Linux customers will receive a notification email through to June 21 informing them that the company is in the process of modernizing its servers and data centers, as well as the necessary steps they will need to do on their end.

To prevent the loss of any data, Avantex Hosting will save and perform backup copies of all the Web sites of its customers and will upload the data to the new servers. Customers are asked to maintain a backup copy of all their files, including any PHP and MySQL database files.
