May 11, 2005 : Web Host Avantex Offers $0.99 Domains
📅 - Canadian domain registrar and Web hosting provider Avantex (avantex.org -> hostpapa.com) announced on Tuesday that it had reduced the price of its .com, .net and .org domains to $0.99 per year. "With this major price cut, Avantex is the lowest-cost domain name registration service provider in the industry," says George Baker, president and CEO of Avantex Hosting.
While several hosting companies offer domain names for free as an add-on to their hosting services, Avantex's price certainly lands below the lowest domain retail prices. The special price is available only to Avantex hosting customers, however.
