Feb 1, 2005 : SWsoft Releases HSPcomplete 3.1

📅 February 1, 2005 - Web hosting automation software developer SWsoft (sw-soft.com) announced on Tuesday that it has launched HSPcomplete 3.1, the latest version of its automation solution for small and medium-sized hosting service providers.

HSPcomplete, the company said, automates all aspects of the hosting business lifecycle, including service provisioning, e-commerce, integrated billing, customer care and marketing. The solution is designed to reduce the cost of operating a Web hosting business, while facilitating growth.
Version 3.1 includes sixty new features, many of which were suggested by SWsoft customers, partners and end users. HSPcomplete 3.1 comes with Windows VPS hosting, migration from Plesk servers, enhanced billing, increased shared hosting capabilities, and is international market ready, with the ability to customize language packs and expanded currency and payment, domain registration gateway support.
"HSPcomplete 3.1 represents another milestone for delivering proven software solutions that help make our customers more automated and more profitable," says Kurt Daniel, director of marketing for SWsoft. 📅 Jan 31, 2005 - Germany Proposes New Spam Penalties - A law drafted by Germany's ruling coalition parties, the Social Democrats and Greens, would see any person sending spam face fines of up to 50,000 Euros, or about $65,190, according to reports. The proposed law would also prevent spammers from disguising their names or the nature of their emails. Germany made it illegal to send spam in July of last year. The new measures are reportedly part of government efforts to implement further deterrents. The proposed law will be read by the lower house in early March, reports say.

📅 Jan 31, 2005 - Go Daddy's 2nd Super Bowl Ad Rejected - Web hosting provider and domain registrar Go Daddy (godaddy.com ) reportedly purchased a second thirty-second Super Bowl advertisement slot worth $2.4 million, but had the actual ad rejected by the Fox Network, according to a weblog post by CEO Bob Parsons. Because the ad was rejected, said Parsons in his weblog, the company will run the same ad in both time slots it has purchased. The original ad, which Fox has already approved, will run at halftime and in the final minutes of the game.
