📅 March 23, 2005 - Web hosting provider Interland (Interland.com ) announced on Tuesday that online services were a significant contributor in helping online magazine HealthNewsDigest.com (healthnewsdigest.com) reach 10 million subscribers.

HealthNewsDigest.com was founded by Michael McCurdy in 1999, and since then the company has expanded to become one of the most widely syndicated sources of health care information online. It is currently the top-rated health channel on AvantGo and produces more than 30 million impressions a month.

"Interland has been an invaluable member of his team in recent years. Prior to Interland, I had been through a series of online service providers," says McCurdy. "Many providers were just unreliable, and some were not able to handle our site and the traffic we generated, so they asked us to leave. Right now I am the most confident I have ever been in the stability of our Web site and our ability to market the site online."

Every week HealthNewsDigest.com publishes between 40 and 50 new stories, including breaking news, features on health, science and the environment, interviews with leaders in these fields and commentaries. The site has now published a total of more than 13,000 stories on health care.
